24. Never fill the appliance with more than 1.7
liters of water, to prevent the water from
boiling over.
25. Do not move the appliance as long as it is in
operation, to prevent burns from splashing
water.
26. The electric kettle features boil dry prote-
ction, which means the appliance shuts
off automatically if the heating element
becomes too hot. Allow the appliance to
cool about 15 minutes. Then fill the electric
kettle with cold water. The boil dry protection
is deactivated and the appliance is ready for
operation again.
27. Do not use the appliance with accessories
of other manufacturers or brands, to prevent
damage.

Before uSing the aPPliance the firSt time

1. Remove all packaging materials and any
transport safety devices.
2. Clean all parts with a damp cloth, as
described in the chapter "Cleaning and
care" on page 14.
3. Check to make sure that the appliance is
stable.
4. Connect the base via the power cord to the
power supply (230 V~, 50 Hz).
5. Press the open button at the top of the
handle. The lid is unlocked and opens
automatically.
6. Add clear, cold water to the "Max"
marking.

oPeration

1. Remove the kettle from the base. Press the
open button at the top of the handle. The lid
is unlocked and opens automatically.
2. Fill the kettle with at least 0.7 liters of
water ("Min" marking). Do not fill the kettle
with more than 1.7 liters of water ("Max"
marking).
3. Close the lid by pressing lightly until it locks
into place. The locking mechanism prevents
the lid from opening accidentally when
pouring water.
4. Place the kettle upright on the base.
28. Unplug the appliance from the power supply
after use and prior to cleaning. Never leave
the appliance unattended when it is plugged
in to the power supply.
29. Check the appliance, the plug and the
power cord regularly for wear or damage. In
case of damage to the power cord or other
parts, please send the appliance or the base
for inspection and repair to our after sales
service (for address, see warranty terms,
page 32). Unauthorized repairs can result
in serious risks to the user and void the
warranty.
caution! do not open the lid while the water is
boiling. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water
can splash out.
7. Close the lid by pressing lightly.

water now begins to heat. The blue indicator
lamps light up.
10. When the water boils, the appliance
automatically shuts off and the blue
indicator lamps go out.
11. For hygienic reasons, please discard the
water from the first boiling.

the switch upward.
8. Caution: The automatic shut-off function
