10. CD/USB mode

 If necessary, press the MODE button to switch to CD mode. CD will appear on
the display.

10.1. Notes on CD mode

• Do not insert any foreign objects into the CD compartment as this can destroy
the mechanism.
• To avoid contamination due to dust, do not leave the cover of the CD compart-
ment open for longer periods of time.
• Do not touch the lens in the CD compartment under any circumstances.
• If the CD is very dirty or shows evidence of severe fingerprints, this may delay
playback or cause playback to start at another point.
• Dirt on the pick-up lens can cause interruptions during playback or other mal-
functions.
• If you want to remove dust particles from the CD compartment, use an ordinary
lens blower brush.

10.2. Inserting CDs

Playable media:
• Audio CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs.
• USB memory sticks. Please note that it is not possible to fully guarantee compat-
ibility with all memory sticks.
The playback functions for these data media are largely identical and
will therefore be described together in these instructions.
 Open the CD compartment by pressing the opening depression on the CD com-
partment lid. The CD compartment lid opens upwards. OPEN will appear on
the display.
 Place a CD with the label side up on the support and make sure it is seated firm-
ly.
 Close the CD compartment by gently pressing down the compartment lid. The
CD will start to rotate and LOAD will appear on the display.
 The total number of tracks on the CD and the total running time are displayed.
If no disc is inserted, or if the disc cannot be read, NO will appear on the display.
To remove a CD, take hold of it by the edges and carefully press down the holder in
the middle.
Do not open the CD compartment while the disc is still playing or rotat-
ing. Press STOP first.
