USER GUIDE
DEAR CUSTOMER
Closca
TM
is a safe high quality foldable helmet which
is compliant with the most strict safety standards and
regulations. Please read carefully this user guide for
proper use.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
This helmet has solely been designed for protecting
bicycle, skateboard and roller riders. It shall never be
used for other activities different to those listed.
Please keep in mind this helmet will only protect you
when properly adjusted and sized, thus you have to
make sure you're using the size that best suits your
head. We kindly encourage you to try several sizes
and choose the one that feels most comfortable
and safe. If the helmet you purchased does not fit
well or you're unable to adjust the straps according
to the instructions, do not use it. Please return it to
your dealer or contact Closca Design, S.L.'s Service
Department for assistance.
Bear in mind that protection provided by a helmet is
limited and only applies to head's covered areas. This
helmet does not provide protection against spinal cord
injuries or other body injuries. You're hereby warned
that properly wearing a helmet does not guarantee
avoiding severe injuries or even death in the event of
an accident.
You are advised that helmet's inner material is
designed to controllably strain during impact, while
it dissipates energy from it. After this, the helmet
irreversibly loses its protection capacity. Deformation
might not be visible to the naked eye, so the helmet
should be completely disposed and substituted after
a violent impact, even if you don't notice evidence of
damage.
Before using the helmet proceed to a full deployment.
Slide back the rear adjustment part with your thumbs
and place helmet over your head as shown in figure
1. Next pull down making sure all three helmet parts
are completely unfolded forming a continuous surface
around your head.
Finally fasten the straps and
ensure each one is adjusted to its proper length so that
they are tight but comfortable.
Make sure the helmet stays horizontal over your head
as shown in figure 2. If it's tilted forward it can reduce
your field of vision and leave the back of your neck
exposed, while if it's tilted backwards your forehead
will be insufficiently protected.
This helmet shall not be used by children under 5 years
of age. Children always shall use this helmet under
the supervision of an adult who shall make sure the
child takes it off every time he/she is going to perform
other activities where there is a risk of hanging or
strangulation, such as: climbing up a swing or any
children's playground equipment.
STRAPS FITTING
Straps and buckles shall be properly fitted for each
user. To do so, slide straps to adjust them to the
correct position as shown in figure 3. The junction
point for each side strap shall be placed slightly below
and ahead of the ear, without covering it.
Next pull the chinstrap buckle under your chin and
adjust its length in such way that the locking buckle
gets centered where neck and chin meets, not
touching the jawbone. Never place the buckle over
your chin or you'll be at risk of having your helmet flying
out of your head in case of an accident. Fasten the
buckle as shown in figure 4.
Check that all straps and buckles are firmly and
comfortably fit. These shouldn't be too tight but tight
enough to maintain the helmet unfolded and well
secured in its use position. Before using the helmet
verify no straps are loose or damaged and that it is
properly secured in its position by twisting and pulling
with both hands. If you're able to move it to a different
position (even if it's done with some effort), check
the fittings and increase tension to a point where
movement is down to a minimum.
