An accurate estimation of exposure should also take into account the times when the tool is switched off, or
when it is running but not actually being used for a job. This can significantly reduce exposure over the total
working period.

5 Preparations at the workplace
CAUTION
Risk of injury! Inadvertent starting of the product.
▶ Unplug the supply cord before making adjustments to the power tool or before changing accessories.
Observe the safety instructions and warnings in this documentation and on the product.
5.1 Fitting the saw blade
CAUTION
Risk of damage! Unsuitable or incorrectly fitted saw blades may damage the saw.
▶ Only use blades which are suitable for this saw. Observe the direction-of-rotation arrow on the saw
blade.
▶ Use only saw blades equipped with a rated maximum permissible speed that is at least as high as the
maximum speed stated on the product.
1. Rest the power tool on the ribs provided.
2. Lock the arbor by holding the arbor lock button down with one hand.
3. Fit the clamping flange to the arbor.
4. Securely tighten the screw.
5. Make sure that the clamping flange is seated correctly.
The riving knife thickness must be less than the kerf width of the saw blade and at least equal to
the saw blade disc thickness. Gap A must be less than 5 mm (0.2 in).
5.2 Adjusting the cutting depth
For a clean-edged cut, set cutting depth to the thickness of the material plus 2 mm.
1. Release the lock.
2. Set the cutting depth with the lever for the cutting depth.

3. Secure the lock.
