What is so special with ELAC complete active subwoofers?
With an ELAC complete active subwoofer you got a full-fledged product. Even if he looks as a
toy because of his compact dimensions he is able to reproduce frequencies down to less than
40 Hz.
Because he comprises 4 power amplifier channels (2 for the subwoofer itself and one for each
left and right satellite channel) the ELAC complete active subwoofer is already a complete small
HQ stereo system. Through his compact dimensions he is the natural candidate for use as a
desktop subwoofer. As well beside the monitor screen on the desk, as on the sideboard in the
dining nook, on the shelf in the lounge area, on the bedside table in the bedroom, or as a de-
cent bass extension to a flat screen-TV the ELAC complete active subwoofer is well qualified.
The signal sources for the ELAC complete active subwoofer that should be considered are not
only CD-Player, radio or notebook, but is also a wireless signal transfer via Bluetooth® link, e.g.
a mobile phone or MP3 player with Bluetooth® wireless technology (see chapter Bluetooth®
wireless technology).
By special configuration of both drivers into the cabinet of the ELAC complete active subwoofer
the reproduction will be free from spurious vibrations /structure-borne sound. This way the op-
eration of ELAC complete active subwoofer is possible on nearly every foundation, because
there is no excitation of vibration. The placement onto a glass cupboard is possible as well as
closely to your notebook without disturbance to the hard disk drive.
By his compactness the ELAC complete active subwoofer could be used in all places, where
high quality sound is required within small space, ideal also for business travellers.
With a suitable car-adaptor, which delivers min. 4 A at 16 V (available through accessory deal-
ers) the ELAC complete active subwoofer can be operated also from 12V-outlets in the car or
on the boat.
A special feature of your ELAC complete active subwoofer is its ESP® circuit, which guarantees
clear low frequency reproduction even under heavy overload conditions for amplifier and/or driv-
ers. ESP® is an electronic stability program that acts depending on frequency content and level.
In effect it is very similar to the ESP® in your car that helps to hold the system within safe areas
of tracking stability. With ELAC subwoofer ESP® traditional overload is nearly impossible.
