MAIN OUTPUTS
Setting Up the Output
With the power switch ON and the output switch OFF the output voltage and current limit may be
accurately set using the three output controls. The left hand meter indicates voltage and the right
hand meter indicates current.
Constant Current lndication
When the power supply goes into current limit or is operating in constant current mode the
sign flashes in the current meter display.
Series or Parallel Connection
The outputs may be connected in series or parallel to produce higher voltages (300V max) or
higher currents.
When several outputs are connected in parallel the output voltage will be equal to the highest
voltage set on any of the outputs until this output goes into current limit. The voltage will then fall
to the next highest output and so on.
Tracking (TS3023S)
With the switch in the ISOLATED position the 2 outputs operate independently. With the switch in
the TRACKING position the Slave positive terminal is internally connected to the Master negative
terminal and the Slave output tracks the Master output; the Slave coarse voltage control becomes
inoperative and the Slave fine voltage control should be turned fully clockwise. With the Slave
output ON, both outputs can be controlled by the Master output switch. The current limit controls
remain independent.
Note: Remote sensing cannot be used in the tracking mode on either output.
Protection
The power supply cannot sink current provided by an external source. If an external source
greater than the set voltage is connected to the output terminals with the output switch ON, the
internal regulator will turn off and the voltmeter will read the applied voltage. The external source
must not exceed 20 volts above the maximum output voltage of the power supply.
The power supply is protected from reverse voltages by a diode; the reverse current must not
exceed 3 Amps.
LOGIC OUTPUT (TS3023S)
Setting Up the Output
With the power switch ON and the output switch OFF the meter displays voltage, permitting the
output voltage to be accurately set with the calibrated control. With the output switch ON the
meter displays load current.
If the power supply goes into current limit or the output is short-circuited the
the meter display; if the fault is not cleared within a few seconds the power supply will shut down.
To reset the power supply turn the power switch OFF for approximately 20 seconds.
Protection
If an external voltage greater than the over-voltage protection threshold is applied to the output
terminals the over-voltage protection will be triggered, applying a clamp across the output
terminals. The
sign will flash in the display indicating that the over-voltage protection has
