2
Insert the plug into the wall socket (fig. 2).
The power-on light and the heating-up light go on.
3
Prepare the ingredients.
You will find suggestions for ingredients in the chapter 'Recipes'.
The panini grill is ready for use as soon as the heating-up light goes out (fig. 3).
4
Place the ingredients on the grilling plate.
For an optimal result, the ingredients should be placed in the centre of the plate.
5
For paninis/sandwiches: put 1 slice of bread on the lower plate, spread the filling onto the
bread and put another slice of bread on top (fig. 4).
You can also toast 2 paninis/sandwiches, if you wish. If you are using small slices: to prevent spillage,
fillings should not be spread too close to the edges of the bread.
6
Close the grill (fig. 5).
7
For sandwiches/paninis: the grill is equipped with a clamping mechanism for preparing
sandwiches/paninis. Lower the upper plate carefully onto the bread until the auto-lock
mechanism clamps it onto the lower plate.
During the grilling process, the heating-up light goes on and goes out from time to time as an
B
indication that the heating elements are switched on and off to maintain the correct temperature.
Fillings should not be put too close to the edges of the bread. Never overfill a sandwich/panini as
this could cause spillage.
To achieve a crispier result on both sides, you can put sandwiches or paninis on a metal rack (e.g. a
cooling rack) for half a minute after grilling them.
8
Open the appliance when the ingredients are properly grilled.
The grilling time depends on the type of ingredients, their thickness and your personal taste.
9
Remove the food (fig. 6).
Use a wooden or plastic utensil (e.g. a spatula) to remove the food from the panini grill. Do not use
metal, sharp or abrasive kitchen utensils.
10
Unplug the appliance after use.
For optimal results, remove excess oil from the plates with a piece of kitchen paper before
grilling the next batch of food.
11
To continue grilling, place the next batch of food on the grilling plate when the heating-up
light goes out.
Tips
Use your imagination to create delicious new variations. Combine a basic ingredient such as meat,
fish, cheese, sausages or slices of hard-boiled eggs with fruits (e.g. avocado, banana, tangerine, apple
and pineapple) or with vegetables (e.g. tomato, cucumber, onions, mushrooms, peppers and
gherkins). You will discover that these combinations can be surprisingly tasty.
You can season the food to taste with e.g. curry powder, paprika powder, cayenne pepper, chives,
parsley, mustard, tomato ketchup, sandwich spread, herb butter or chutney.
Cleaning
Never immerse the appliance in water.
1
Unplug the appliance and let it cool down.
