To cancel the setting
In step 7, instead of pressing the CLOCK SET button,
press the U ID SET, EJECT, TEST, or SEARCH
button, or any of the tape transport buttons.

After checking the points below, turn the POWER
switch ON.
Where to check What to check for
Lithium battery That the lithium battery is properly
compartment installed. (See page 18.)
BATTERY switch Set to ON if the date and time
settings are to be saved.
LED display That it is set to the desired setting
switch (DATE/U ID or U ID).
The following will appear in the LED display.
When in DATE/U ID mode:
Date/Time
When in U ID mode:
User ID (12 digits)

When the LEDs are blinking
The battery is exhausted. Please replace it with a
new battery. If the battery's power is completely
used up, the ID data that has been saved will be
lost.

Press the U ID SET button.
The leftmost digit of the User ID begins to blink.

Pressing the INC or DEC button, set the blinking
digit to the value desired.

Press the SHIFT button to have another digit blink.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 and set all digits to the values
desired.

Press the U ID SET button again.
The User ID that has set will be stored.
To correct the values
Before pressing the U ID SET button in step 6, press
the SHIFT button to have the desired digit blink, then
correct the value using the INC and DEC buttons.
To cancel the setting
In step 6, instead of pressing the U ID SET button,
press the CLOCK SET, EJECT, TEST, or SEARCH
buttons, or any of the tape transport buttons.
