Initial Operation

Setting-up
The suction unit is a standing device which must not be operated in a horizontal position.
If the suction unit is placed in a closed cabinet, the warm exhaust air must be transported out of
the cabinet using one of the measures shown in Figs A, B, C at the start of this manual.
A: External exhaust air duct (see accessories at www.renfert.com).
B: Opening in cabinet rear panel, specified dimensions, observe the minimum and maximum
measurements.
C: Remove the back panel of the cabinet, distance from the back of the cabinet to the wall min. 50 mm.
Connect
Warning risk of injury!
When shortening the suction tube, please be sure to cut the integrated wire as straight as possi-
ble.
Long suction tubes, tight bends and kinks greatly reduce the suction power at the suction point.
⇒ Shorten the suction tube if possible.
⇒ Open the adhesive strap (7).
⇒ Plug the suction tube end piece (12) into the suction socket (6).
⇒ Fix the suction tube in place with the adhesive strap.
⇒ Connect the suction tube to the correct suction point.
If the diameter is not suitable, use an adapter (see accessories), to avoid loss of suction.
⇒ Connect the electronic device to the appliance socket (8) on the back.
When connecting electrical appliances to the suction unit, ensure that the maximum permissible
power for connected devices is not exceeded (see "Technical data" at the end of this document).
⇒ Switch the device off at the on / off switch (3).
⇒ Unroll the power cord (9) and insert the power plug into the building wall socket.
Operation
Switching On
The suction unit is switched on and off via the on / off switch (3).
After activation:
♦ The suction unit performs an automatic filter cleaning sequence (for approx. 8 seconds, loud vibrating
noise).
Afterwards, the suction unit is in the last set mode.
Select operating mode: Automatic operation / continuous operation
• Automatic mode (20):
The suction is dependent on the electrical device connected to the appliance outlet (8).
• Permanent operation (22):
Suction running continuously.
⇒ Press operating mode key (21).
♦ Changing the operting mode.
If the suction to a connected electrical appliance (e.g. a handpiece) does not react as required
(e.g. does not activate, even though a connected device is in operation) then the switch-on
threshold for automatic operation must be adjusted.
Suction Power
The suction power for the suction unit can be set in 4 levels.
