GAS ENGINE INSTALLATION

1.
Measure and mark the locations for the engine mounting screws on
the fi rewall.
 The Tiger 30cc has been designed to use a variety of power
systems. Please make sure to check the power system selected
has mounting holes that align with holes in the drawing. Different
holes may be required dependant on the motor selection.
 Use of the DLE-35RA Rear Exhaust engine may
require up to 12 ounces (340g) of additional nose
weight to properly balance this model.
2.
Use a drill and 7/32-inch (5.5mm) drill bit to drill the holes from the
previous step.
 Drill a 1/8-inch (3mm) pilot hole first to prevent the larger
drill bit from wandering when drilling the final holes.
3.
Attach the standoffs to the engine using the hardware included with
the engine. Use a drop of threadlock on each of the screws before
threading them into the standoffs.
4.
Attach the engine to the fi rewall using the hardware provided with
the engine. Position the fi rewall so the distance shown measures

may vary depending on engine selection. Verify the measurement is
within this range when the engine has been attached to the fi rewall.
5.
Use a pencil to mark the location of the fi rewall on the fuselage
sides and top.

Remove the motor and motor box from the fi rewall. Mix 1/4 ounce
(8mL) of 5-minute epoxy. Slide the fi rewall so epoxy can be applied
in the fi nal locations for the fi rewall.
Slide the fi rewall back in position. Use the marks on the fuselage to
verify it is square in the fuselage. Continually check that the fi rewall
does not move while the epoxy is curing.
Once the epoxy has cured, glue the triangular supports between the
fuselage sides and fi rewall using a small amount of 5-minute epoxy.
Once the epoxy has cured, use a drill and 1/16-inch (1.5mm) drill
bit to drill a hole through the fuselage side and into the center of the
fi rewall. Drill holes on both sides and the top of the fuselage. Use a
#2 x 3/8 inch sheet metal screw and #2 washer in each hold to help
secure the fi rewall.
