Installing/Replacing batteries
Keep batteries away from children.
Make sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries.
Remove the batteries if the device is not used for a longer period of time.
Leaking or damaged batteries can lead to caustic burning of the skin.
Therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
The batteries must not be short-circuited or thrown into a fire. They must not
be re-charged. There is a danger of explosion.
Do not use batteries with a different charging status or from different manu-
facturers at the same time.
• Open the battery case on the bottom side of the diet scales.
• Remove flat batteries and insert 2 new 1.5 V-Mignon batteries (AA) into the battery case mak-
ing sure the polarity is correct. The correct polarity is imprinted on the bottom of the battery
case.
• Close the battery case.
• If the batteries are discharged, this will be indicated in the display (5) of the battery charge con-
dition. In such case, replace the batteries as described above.
Operation
a) Weighing
• Press the On/Off/TARA key (1). The diet scales runs a
short self-test and then indicates 0 g.
• Put the comestible that you would like to weigh on the
scales. The value display (7) indicates the value.
• To change the scale unit press key „g/oz".
• In order to weigh food in a jar but without weighing the jar itself, you can use the TARE func-
tion.
In order to do so, put the empty jar on the scales and then press the On/Off/TARE key (1). The
measured value is reset to „0". If you now put the comestible into the jar, the scales will indi-
cate the net value for the comestible (without the weight of the jar).
b) Display of the nutritional values
• While weighing a comestible enter the comestible code
according to provided code list by using the numerical
keys on the right-hand side of the display. The entered
code is indicated on the left-hand side at the top of the
display.
If you enter the wrong code, the code will be deleted and the scales displays the
weight again.
• Press the corresponding key on the left of the display in order to retrieve the requested nutri-
tional value. The value is shown in the value display (7) with indication of the corresponding
unit.
