DESCRIPTION OF THE FENZY BIOLINE (Figure 1)
The FENZY BIOLINE is a modular breathing apparatus able to meet a wide variety of needs for respiratory protection.
Operating principle
FENZY BIOLINE is an open system isolating breathing device with an air-line supply.
FENZY BIOLINE must be connected to a medium pressure source of compressed breathing air; the air must comply with standard
EN 12021:
The air coming from the medium pressure source arrives in the BIOLINE block and then supplies the wearer's breathing mask via
the device's demand valve.
FENZY BIOLINE may only be used in areas that are not immediately dangerous to the user's life, because this apparatus cannot
operate independently if the air supply coming from the medium pressure source is stopped.
Belt
Supports the BIOLINE block
BIOLINE unit
The block is supported by the device's belt.
This block is connected to the pipe from the medium pressure compressed air source using the quick coupling.
Demand valve
The FENZY BIOLINE apparatus may be fitted with one of the following valves:
SA 5000, (Figure 2)
SA 5000 Zénith, (Figure 2)
SX-PRO, (Figure 3)
The valves are equipped with an Air Klic and easily connected to the mask with the snap-on coupling.
The valves can only be snapped off deliberately with the hand by pressing the Air Klic buttons at the same time.
With SA 5000 or SA 5000 ZENITH type demand valves, a coupling sensor located in the valve automatically stops or starts positive
pressure in the mask when the demand valve is snapped off or on.
The FENZY BIOLINE apparatus can optionally be equipped with a SX-PRO type diaphragm-operated valve, in which case pressure is
automatically regulated in the mask when the user takes his first breath.
However, if desired, the user can also regulate it manually by pressing the centre of the bypass button.
The lateral first inhalation button shuts off the SX-PRO valve's air supply after snap-off.
When using it in cold conditions, any moisture present in the demand valve can result in the formation of frost
inside the valve and consequently affect its operation.
It is essential to avoid all traces of moisture inside the demand valve and the medium pressure hose.
In particular the valve must be dried after cleaning it.
When the apparatus is worn, the bypass also provides an additional air supply in the respiratory mask. It is also used to flush the circuit
of the apparatus after use.
The valve is adjusted to supply static positive pressure of about 3 mbar.
Respiratory mask
The mask is compliant with EN 136 standards.
Refer to the specific instructions for use for the respiratory mask.
USE
Only apparatuses that have been regularly maintained in keeping with instructions may be used.
Operating conditions for the apparatus
-15° C to +60° C
Mains air supply specifications
Before switching on the apparatus, ensure that:
The medium-pressure compressed air supply coming from the air source meets the following conditions:
Medium pressure: 6 bar minimum and 7.5 bar maximum.
Air flow rate: Minimum 500 litres / minute, to be able to maintain positive pressure in the mask.
The breathing air coming from the medium pressure source must comply with standard EN 12021,
which specifies some data under normal conditions of use, i.e. atmospheric pressure and room
temperature.
