Information regarding variable area flowmeters with glass meter tubes model D10A11XX
In accordance with the pressure equipment directive, glass measurement pipes which have already been
fitted once must not be fitted a second time due to the existence of residual stresses. In order to replace
the suspended solid matter, we recommend always ordering and fitting a spare measurement pipe. CE
conformity will be voided if this is not observed!

If you wish to send the equipment to the ABB parent company in Göttingen for repairs or re-calibration,
use the original packaging or a suitable secure transport container. Please specify the reason for return-
ing the equipment.

Anyone in possession of special-category waste is responsible for its disposal and/or must note the fol-
lowing rulings if transporting such waste:

This operating instruction contains instructions regarding the subjects of start-up and inspections as well
as specifications for the instrument version. The manufacturer reserves the right to make improvements
to the hardware and/or software. You can obtain information about up-date issues and possible exten-
sions from the parent company in Göttingen or from your ABB sales office.

Returns

All flow recorders and/or flow converters delivered to ABB Automation Products for repairs must not
contain any traces of hazardous substances (acids, lyes, solvents, etc.). In order to ensure this, the
hazardous substances should be rinsed out of all cavities, e.g. between measurement pipe and
housing and neutralized. These procedures should be confirmed in writing in the accompanying
papers.
If the person responsible for these hazardous substances is not able to completely remove them, the
equipment should be returned with the necessary accompanying papers. The owner of the equip-
ment will be invoiced for any costs which ABB could incur through the disposal of hazardous waste
during repairs
