1 Operating Elements and Connections

1.1 Front panel
1 Power switch with LED "POWER"
2 LED level display
3 Input selector switches for channels 1 to 4
- for channel 1:
switchable between the mono microphone input
(MIC) and the stereo line input (LINE 1)
- for channels 2 and 3:
switchable between the stereo line input (CD 1
or CD 2) and the stereo phono input (PHONO 1
or 2)
- for channel 4:
switchable between the two stereo line inputs
(LINE 2/LINE 3)
4 GAIN controls for adjusting the input amplification
for channels 1 to 4
5 3-way equalizer for channels 1 to 4:
HIGH = treble controls
MID
= midrange controls
BASS = bass controls
6 6.3 mm jack DJ MIC (unbal.) for the connection of a
DJ microphone to channel 1
7 6.3 mm jack PHONES for the connection of stereo
headphones (impedance ≥ 8 Ω)
8 Buttons CUE for the PFL facility:
If the button is pressed, the respective input chan-
nel can be monitored ahead of the fader (10) via
headphones connected to jack PHONES (7).
9 Volume control CUE LEVEL for the headphones
connected to jack (7)
10 Volume controls (faders) for channels 1 to 4
11 Crossfader for fading between channels 2 and 3
12 Selector switch for the DJ microphone connected
to jack (6)
MIC OFF: microphone is switched off

14 Low voltage jack for the connection of the supplied
plug-in transformer (230 V~/50 Hz/10 VA)
15 Phono input jacks PHONO for channels 2 and 3 for
the connection of turntables with magnetic system
16 Connection GND for common grounding point, e. g.
for turntables
17 Phono output jacks AMP for the connection of the
amplifier
18 Phono output jacks REC for the connection of an
audio recording unit; the recording level is independ-
ent of the position of the MASTER control (13)
19 Phono input jacks CD or LINE for channels 1 to 4
for the connection of units with line level (e. g. tape
deck, CD player, minidisk recorder)

2 Safety Notes

The unit and the plug-in transformer correspond to the
directive for electromagnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC.
The plug-in transformer additionally corresponds to the
low voltage directive 73/23/EEC.
The plug-in transformer is supplied with lethal mains
voltage (230 V~). In order to prevent a shock hazard,
do not open the plug-in transformer. Leave servicing
to authorized, skilled personnel only. Furthermore,
any guarantee claim expires if the plug-in trans-
former or the unit has been opened.
For operation it is necessary to observe in any case
the following items:
The unit and the plug-in transformer are only suit-
able for indoor use.
Protect the unit and the plug-in transformer against
humidity and heat (admissible ambient temperature
range 0–40 °C).
Even if the unit is switched off, the plug-in trans-
former connected to the mains has a low power con-
sumption.
Do not take the unit into operation, and immediately
disconnect the plug-in transformer from the mains
socket if:
1. damage at the unit or plug-in transformer can be
seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or simi-
lar accident,
3. there are malfunctions.
The unit or the plug-in transformer must in any case
be repaired by authorized personnel.
If the unit or the plug-in transformer is used for pur-
poses other than originally intended, if they are not
connected properly, if they are operated in the wrong
way or not repaired by authorized, skilled personnel,
there is no liability for possible damage.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
water or chemicals.
If the unit and the plug-in transformer are to be put
out of operation definitively, bring them to a local
recycling plant for disposal.
3 Applications
The stereo disco mixer with four stereo input channels
and one DJ microphone connection is suitable for any
desired private or professional DJ applications. It can
be used as a table top unit or be mounted into a con-
sole.

4 Setting into Operation

1) Connect the audio sources to the corresponding
input jacks:
- jacks CD or LINE (19) for the connection of up to
five units with line level (e. g. CD player, tape
deck, minidisk recorder)
