OPERATION
Confirm the telescopic forks meet the demand for lifting
capacity and extension. This data appears on the
nameplate/stamping, where the lifting capacity for the fork
pair is specified at two horizontal centers of gravity (HCG)
for retracted and extended positions.
The Telescopic forks are intended for the following
purpose:
1) To lift and to carry a load not heavier and with the load
center not longer than indicated on the nameplate/
stamping.
2) To move a load not heavier than specified. This
movement should take place with a stationary/parked
truck.
When driving the truck with or without a load on the forks,
the forks should be retracted to protect the hydraulic
system and the shoes.
If a collision takes place with extended shoes it would
result in a pressure spike in the hydraulic system that could
damage seals etc.
IMPORTANT: The telescopic forks must be retracted when
rotating and must have a special wider hook for rotator
capacity.
