3.4.1 FERTILIZER - TRANSMISSION

The fertilizer distributor can be requested separately from the we-
eder and can easily be fi tted to it anytime except for few special
cases. Distributors are supplied with the original mountings of the
weeders and with the transmission gears.
TO COMPLETE THE TRANSMISSION (Fig. 18)
(1) Transmission wheels: Fix the wheels to axle and secure them
with the safety pin they are provided with

3.4.2 MANURE SPREADER CARDAN JOINT TRANSMISSION

(OPTIONAL)
On request, the type of transmission may be changed from me-
chanical (Fig. 18) to Cardan joint (Fig. 19).
During assembly, carefully follow these instructions:
1) Completely disassemble the mechanical transmission.
2) At the left of the point three coupling, attach the reduction gear
(1, Fig. 19) to the support frame using the screws and nuts
provided.
3) Loosen the axis locks (2) to remove the coupling sleeve (3) and
on the same axis insert pinion Z24 (4) aligning it with reduction
gear pinion Z12.
4) Position the chain so that its free branch takes up the slack of
the chain tightener.
5) Adjust chain tension by rotating the chain tightener and locking
it with the nut (5).
6) Replace the guard (6), attaching it using the wing nuts provi-
ded.
Connect the Cardan shaft and make sure that it is perfectly blocked
on the power take-off. Check that the guard turns freely and fi x it
with the chain provided.

3.4.3 ADAPTING THE CARDAN SHAFT

The Cardan shaft, supplied with the machine, is of standard
length.
It might, therefore, be necessary to adapt the Cardan shaft. Should
this be the case, before proceeding, consult the Manufacturer.
- When the Cardan shaft is withdrawn to the end of its stroke,
the two pipes should ovelap by at least 15 cm (A, Fig. 20).
When it is inserted all the way, the minimum admissible play
is 4 cm (B, Fig. 20).
- When using the equipment on another tractor, check that
conditions are as stated above and check that the guards
completely cover the rotating parts of the Cardan shaft.
For transportation of the hoeing machine, always follow the Manu-
facturer's instructions.
