6.11 Charging the battery (Fig. 13)
1. Take the battery pack out of the equipment.
Do this by pressing the pushlock button.
2. Check that your mains voltage is the same as
that marked on the rating plate of the battery
charger. Insert the power plug of the charger
(D) into the socket outlet. The green LED will
then begin to fl ash.
3. Insert the battery pack (E) into the charger
(D).
4. In the section entitled „Charger indicator" you
will fi nd a table with an explanation of the LED
indicator on the charger.
The battery pack can become a little warm during
the charging. This is normal.
If the battery pack fails to charge, check:
whether there is voltage at the socket outlet
whether there is good contact at the charging
contacts
If the battery pack still fails to charge, send
the charging unit
and the battery pack
to our customer service center.
To ensure that the battery pack provides long ser-
vice, you should take care to recharge it promptly.
You must recharge the battery pack when you
notice a drop in the power of the electric bike.
Never allow the battery pack to become fully di-
scharged. This will cause it to develop a defect.
6.12 Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 14)
Press the button for the battery capacity indicator
(Item H). The battery capacity indicator (Item F)
shows the charge status of the battery using 3
LEDs.
All 3 LEDs are lit:
The battery is fully charged.
2 or 1 LED(s) are lit:
The battery has an adequate remaining charge.
1 LED blinks:
The battery is empty, recharge the battery.
All LEDs fl ash:
The battery pack has undergone exhaustive di-
scharge and is defective. Do not use or charge a
defective battery pack!

7. Before each trip

For your protection, wear protectors and a
helmet.
Check you electric bike before every trip, because
functions can change or parts can become loose
even after assembly or when you park it in a pub-
lic place or when you transport it.
Check the following before every trip:
The lights, to make sure they work properly
and are fastened securely.
The bell, to make sure it works properly and is
fitted securely.
The brakes, to make sure they work properly
and are fitted securely. Also check the linings
and surfaces of the brakes for signs of wear.
Hydraulic systems: Check the lines and con-
nections for leaks as well.
The tires, to make sure they have the correct
air pressure.
The tires, to check for signs of damage, wear,
brittleness and foreign bodies, and check that
they have sufficient tread depth.
The wheels, to make sure they run true and
do not display any signs of damage.
The wheels, to make sure they are fitted
securely and fastened properly by the quick-
release fasteners and removable axles.
The gear selector components, to make sure
they work properly and are fitted securely.
All the quick-release fasteners, removable ax-
les (including after leaving parked for a short
time unattended), screws and nuts, to make
sure they are fitted securely.
The frame and fork, to check for signs of da-
mage, deformation, cracks or dents.
The handlebars, handlebar stem, seat post
and saddle, to make sure they are fitted secu-
rely and are in the right position.
The charge status of the rechargeable bat-
teries.
The rechargeable batteries, to make sure
they are fitted properly and securely.
