Use these sensors with the Philips M1014A Spirometry Module and an IntelliVue patient monitor on
ventilated patients to measure airway flow, volume and pressure.

WARNINGS
• Periodically check the sensor and tubing for excessive moisture or secretion build up.
• A system leak, (for example, caused by un-cuffed endotracheal tubes or a damaged sensor) may
significantly effect readings of flow, volume, pressure and other respiratory mechanics parameters.
• Reuse poses a patient hazard. Do not disassemble, clean, immerse, disinfect or sterilize.
• Do not apply tension to the flow sensor tubing.
• Do not allow the sensor in the patient circuit when not connected to the monitor.
Instructions for Use (adhere to this sequence)
1. Remove the sensor assembly from the package and verify that no component is damaged.
2. Click the connector into place in the Flow Sensor receptacle on the monitor before connecting to the
breathing circuit.
3. If using a combined CO /Flow Sensor, press the CO

Perform a zero procedure with room air only if prompted by the monitor.
4. Install the sensor between the endotracheal tube and the ventilator circuit wye. If using a Heat
Moisture Exchanger (HME), place the sensor between HME and wye, positioning it so that the tubing
and arrow on the sensor point upwards.
5. Ensure that the patient ventilator circuit's integrity is not compromised after inserting the sensor.
As with all flow measuring devices, adverse conditions may affect flow measurement accuracy. Do not
