Congratulations on your purchase ! Thanks to KWID, the sandglass
clock, your child will learn in a playful manner to manage and read the
time. In order to control all the functions of the KWID, it is very important
to read carefully the instructions for use below !
Turning the KWID on/off :
Press K1 for a few seconds, the screen lights up. If necessary, it is
also possible to switch off the clock as follows: set the screen in
read the time mode and press simultaneously K1, K2, K3 and K4
for few seconds. Attention, turning the clock off will erase all the
data you have previously registered.
Setting the time for the KWID :
When the screen is in reading the time mode, press K2 and K3
until the sandglass appears and while maintaining the pressure
on K2 and K3, also press K1 for 2 seconds. When the hour is
displayed, release the 3 buttons. Then press on K2 to choose
between 24h or 12h mode (am/pm). Furthermore, press K1 to
go to setting the hour (the little hand); set the hour back or forth
by using the K2 or K3 buttons. Then press K1 to go to setting the
minutes (the big hand); set the minutes back or forth by using the
K2 or K3 buttons. Finally press K1 to confirm.
Learning the time/ludic activities
The child has his own button "KID" (K1), red coloured, reserved
for him. By pressing K1 one time, the hand for the hours flashes
simultaneously with the corresponding figure for the hour. This
allows the child to make an easy connection between the hour
hand and the figures for the hours. By pressing K1 a second time,
the minutes' hand flashes simultaneously with the corresponding
minutes' figure. This allows the child to make an easy connection
between the minutes' hand and the minutes' figure. By pressing
K1 a third time, the ludic activity of the little rider is displayed. By

pressing K1 a fourth time, the ludic activity of the
little dancer is displayed. Pressing K1 a fifth time,
K1
brings back to the hour mode... The ludic activities
are present in order to make the clock more amu-
sing than a simple time displaying screen.
The sandglass function : learning to manage time
The sandglass is turned on by parents only. The sandglass allows
the parents to give their children a simple method for managing
the time allocated for a task or a given activity (play at a friend's
place, play on the playground, reading, homework, computer,
TV, time to go to bed, travelling by car, etc.).
In reading the time mode, press K2 and K3 simultaneously until
the sandglass is displayed and while maintaining the pressure
on keys K2 and K3, every pressure on K1 adds 5 minutes of
sand. When you have added the necessary quantity of sand,
release K2 and K3 and the sandglass is turned on. The main
sandglass is the correspondent of one hour. If it takes more than
1 hour, the main sandglass empties and a smaller sandglass is
then displayed on the left side of the main sandglass represen-
ting another hour. If 2 hours pass, a second small sandglass is
displayed on the right side. If the time allocated is for example
2:30, then the screen will display the 2 small sandglasses + 1/2
of the main sandglass.
Once the sandglass emptied, meaning at the end of the alloca-
ted time, an alarm is activated and Mother Rabbit is displayed
with a gesture of welcome. This is the symbol used to inform the
child the activity is finished. It is child's turn to press his "KID" K1
button to confirm that he has acknowledged that was the end of
his activity, in this moment the alarm stops and the clock turns back
to reading the time mode.
Different ancillary functions in sandglass mode:
In sandglass mode, the child can see the remaining time by pres-
sing his "KID" (K1) key. Pressing 2x successively his "KID" key
allows him to see what the time is. After few seconds, the display
automatically switches back to the sandglass mode.
If the parents want to change the time loaded in the currently
running sandglass, press simultaneously K1 and K3 then add
5 minutes of sand with every pressure on K2 or press K1 and
