Checking the engine condition (MONITOR function)

Checking the engine condition
while the engine is running or
stopped
NOTICE
Do not start the engine and ride the vehicle
while the unit is connected and placed on
the vehicle. Otherwise, the unit may be
damaged.
The following values can be displayed using
the MONITOR function.
Engine speed
G
Intake air temperature
G
Water temperature
G
Atmospheric pressure
G
Throttle position
G
Engine running time
G
Error codes from the self-diagnosis system
G
TIP
The engine speed can only be displayed while
the engine is running.
1. Turn off the unit, and then connect it to
the wire harness of the vehicle. (See
"Connecting the Power Tuner to a vehi-
cle (ECU)" on page 6.)
2. Perform this step according to whether
or not the engine speed will be checked.
When checking the engine speed
a. Start the engine.
The unit will automatically turn on.
TIP
Before starting the engine, make sure that the
unit is turned off (the indicator light is off). If
the engine is started while the unit is turned
on, the unit may turn off or a low voltage error
during communication may occur.
When not checking the engine speed
a. Turn on the unit. (See "Turning the
Power Tuner on or off" on page 6.)
3. Select [MONITOR] on the INITIAL
screen using the "
then push the set button.
The MONITOR screen will be displayed.
