Serial bus interface

Operation of the serial interface is not intended or required for cor-
rect use.
f Keep the connection plugs for possible future changes or
f
extensions.
The following points must be observed when connecting external
devices to the RS485 interface of the EM Meter:
Requirements for the cable:
- Rated voltage/core insulation: 300 V RMS
- Cable cross-section: 0.25 ... 1.5 mm²
- Cable type: rigid or flexible
- Recommendation: use standard cable from AlphaWire with the
designation 2466C.
Requirements for cable routing:
- In the connection area of the RS485 interface of the EM Meter,
ensure by mechanical means that individual wires of the con-
necting cable are at least 10 mm away from live components.
- The connecting cable must be routed separately from the
power cables in the distributor and on the installation section.
- The RS485 interface of the connected device must meet safety
extra-low voltage requirements.
