11. Software

Simple configuration is possible via the enclosed software. You can use it to teach
in transponders, set up users, assign transponders to users, set authorisations
for the access, etc.
The control module can also be directly configured via the corresponding
commands via the RS232 interface. This information meant for professional
users is found in the Appendix in chapter 16.

a) Installation

The enclosed software requires a Windows operating system (at least Windows
XP or higher).
• Place the CD included in the delivery in the corresponding drive of your PC. If the ins-
tallation programme does not start up automatically, open the table of contents of the
CD, e.g. with the file manager of Windows. Then start the installation programme.
• Follow all instructions of Windows or the installation programme.

b) Connection of the Transponder Reader to the PC

• Connect the RS232 port of the control module to an RS232 port of your computer with
the enclosed RS232 cable.
If your computer does not have an RS232 port, you need to use the corresponding
USB adapter or an RS232 interface card for your computer (neither included,
available as accessories).
• Connect the aerial module to the control module and switch on the voltage/current
supply.

c) Operation of the Software

• Start the software. A comprehensive help function is available in the software in the
English language.
The figures of the software in these operating instructions may change in newer
versions of the software.
