Troubleshooting

Some of the most frequent defects and their causes are listed in the following chart. In case of other defects,
contact your dealer or the MAFELL customer service.
Defect
Machine cannot be switched on
at 230 V~
Machine switches off
automatically during idling or
stops during the cutting process
at 230 V~
The speed decreased during
cutting.
at 110 / 120 V~
Machine stops while cutting is in
process
Saw blade jams as the machine is
advanced
Burn marks on the cut surfaces
Chip ejection blocked
Danger
Determining the causes for existing defects and eliminating these always requires
increased attention and caution. Pull the mains plug beforehand!

Excessive feed
Blunt saw blade

Machine overloaded
Feed rate too fast

Tension in the workpiece

Wood is too damp

exhaustion

Elimination
Check power supply
Replace fuse
Take the machine to a MAFELL
customer service shop
Check mains-side pre-fuse
Switch machine off and on again
Reduce feed speed
Reduce feed
Sharpen or replace saw blade
Check mains back-up fuses
Reduce feed speed
Reduce feed speed
Release the switch immediately.
Remove the machine from the
workpiece and replace the saw
blade
Use parallel guide fence
Straighten the surface
Replace saw blade
Connect to an external extraction,
e.g. portable dust extractor
