Protective hood SR 345 • SR 346
Applications
The SR 345 protective hood protects the head, back,
shoulders and chest of the user. The SR 346 is length-
ened to provide protection for the whole of the upper
body down to knee height.
The hoods are made of chemicals-resistant material and
provide protection against splashing and dripping of
most solvents and acids in relatively low concentrations.
However, the material may be affected by extended
contact with certain solvents.
The hoods can be used together with Sundström half
masks, full face masks and the SR 90 Airline. Safety hel-
met and ear protectors can be worn under the hood.
Assembly
Start by fitting the filter you intend to use in your half
mask. Then adjust the head harness and test the mask
to ensure that there is a good seal. Test the tightness
using the test disc supplied with the mask. See the user
instructions for the mask for particulars of adjustment
and choice of filter.
Then fit the hood to the mask, with the filter located in the
large hole below the hood visor as shown in Fig. 1.

Campos de aplicación
La capucha SR 345 protege la cabeza, la espalda, los
hombros y el pecho. El modelo SR 346 es una versión
prolongada que protege toda la parte superior del cuerpo
hasta la altura de las rodillas
Estas capuchas están fabricadas de material resistente
a los productos químicos, y protegen contra salpicadu-
ras y goteo de la mayoría de los disolventes y ácidos
en concentraciones bajas. No obstante, un contacto
prolongado con ciertos disolventes puede influir sobre
el material.
Pueden utilizarse junto con las caretas completas y semi-
caretas Sundström, y con SR 90 Airline. Es posible llevar
casco y protección auditiva debajo de las capuchas.
Montaje
Empezar montando el filtro que vaya a emplearse en la
semicareta. Luego ajustar las cintas y controlar la hermeti-
cidad de la careta. La manera más apropiada de controlar
la hermeticidad es usando el disco de prueba incluido
con la careta. Ver el manual de la careta para información
sobre cómo ajustarla y la selección de filtros.
Luego montar la capucha en la careta con el filtro colo-
cado en el agujero grande situado debajo del visor de
la capucha, ver la fig. 1.
Hay dos orificios pequeños al lado del agujero para el

Putting on the hood
Before putting it on, turn the hood inside out, so that the
half mask and the head harness are accessible. Place
the strap around your neck as shown in Fig. 3. Then raise
the mask towards your face, at the same time slipping
the head harness over your head as shown in Fig. 4.
When the mask is in place, slip the hood over your head
as shown in Fig. 5, and you are now protected by the
hood (see Fig. 6).
Cleaning
To clean manually, use a soft brush or sponge and a
mild detergent solution. The hood can also be machine
washed about 10 times. Wash at a maximum of 40ºC
using a mild detergent. Do not centrifuge.
N.B. The visor is treated with a permanent anti-misting
agent that will be damaged if exposed to certain che-
micals. So never use cleaning products that contain
a degreasing agent or alcohol, such as Sundström
cleaning wipes SR 5226.

Colocación
Colocarse la capucha poniéndola primero vuelta del
revés para que las cintas queden accesibles. Colocar la
cinta alrededor de la nuca, ver la fig. 3. Luego elevar la
careta hacia la cara al mismo tiempo que se coloca la
cinta para la cabeza, ver la fig. 4.
Una vez colocada la careta ponerse la capucha sobre la
cabeza, ver la fig. 5, y la colocación queda terminada,
ver la fig. 6.
Limpieza
Para la limpieza manual se usa un cepillo suave o
esponja, y un detergente suave.
La capucha también puede lavarse en lavadora unas 10
veces. Lavar a 40 °C como máximo con un detergente
suave. No centrifugar.
¡Atención! La visera ha sido sometida a un revestimiento
antivaho permanente que queda destruido si se expone
a ciertos productos químicos. Por tanto, no usar nunca
productos de limpieza que contengan agentes deseng-
rasantes o alcohol, como la servilleta de limpieza SR
5226 de Sundström.
