Connecting the reader PR500 to Bewator 2010 E2V
The drawing shows how the PR500 connects to the Bewator 010 system where the node EV is used. The
power supply for the PR500 is connected to the E:s incoming power supply input . Maximum +24V. Note
that the incoming 0V also have to be connected to internal minus (on terminal block).
Note that due to current limitations, no connections are made to the +1V power supply output terminals
found within in the EV. The readers LEDs are controlled exclusively by the host system.


1) The Read range is stated in an undisturbed electrical environment, and that the reader is installed in accordance with Siemens
Building Technologies instructions, with the card (IB98 or IB968) presented parallel to the reader.
) The PR500 is designed to be operated by 1V unregulated power supplies, or 4V battery-backed power supplies. Operating
voltage range is 10.6 to 3.0V. The upper voltage is intended to be compatible with the charging of 4V lead-acid batteries. Charge
methods vary, and may be temperature dependent. 3V max is intended to be compatible with commonly used charging methods.
If the upper operating voltage is exceeded then permanent damage may be caused. Installers and systems designers should check
the max power supply voltage under all conditions. Do not operate the PR500 using unregulated 4V supplies. The PR500 current
consumption can be significantly less than 100 mA. The unloaded peak voltage from a nominal 4V unregulated supply will exceed
the absolute max.
