8. Maintenance / cleaning /
repair
Regular maintenance, cleaning and inspection of the pumps
is extremely important. This will reduce problems and incre-
ase operating safety and reliability.
8.1 Cleaning
Do not allow live electrical components to come into con-
tact with fluids.
The preliminary filter housing must be cleaned at least once
per week. Otherwise, the pumps require no special cleaning
(5MPR).
8.2 Maintenance
Maintenance of the pumps must be carried out only by spe-
cially qualified personnel.
Before starting the pump after extended non-use or when
restarting in the spring, it is advisable to turn the motor
shaft, with the pump switched off and the preliminary filter
filled with water, by means of the fan-wheel several times
using an Allen key or screwdriver. This will free the sliding
ring seal and make starting the pump easier.
Switch the pump off before removing the preliminary filter
cover. Close the shut-off valves in the suction and pressure
lines. Open the drain plug briefly, and then remove the preli-
minary filter cover.
The tension strap and nuts on the pump body must not be
removed as long as the pump is still under pressure.

8.3 Replacement parts

Replacement parts must conform to the technical require-
ments specified by the manufacturer. This is always guaran-
teed when using original replacement parts. We only offer a
guarantee for original replacement parts supplied by us.
The use of any other replacement parts not supplied by us
can adversely affect the design characteristics of the pump,
and thereby impair the active and/or passive safety. We ac-
cept no liability or guarantee in the event of damage caused
by the use of any other than original replacement parts or
accessories.
