Safety notes for side airbag systems
These notes also apply if your RECARO
seat is not equipped with a side airbag
and the side airbag is deactivated.
Death or serious injury
Do not perform repairs, adjustments
or modifications to the side airbag
system or its individual parts.
Only trained professionals may per-
form work on the side airbag system.
For this reason, we strongly recom-
mend contacting a specialist company
in such cases. This is especially im-
portant for deactivation of the side
airbag, installation work on the side
airbag systems or seat covers.

Please observe the information of your
special attention to information regarding:
functions and method of operation of
each of the side airbag check lamps
triggering the side airbag system
repair, maintenance and special notes
side airbag deactivation (and other sys-
tems affected by this, such as belt tensi-
oners, head airbags and passenger air-
bags)
the transportation of child seats
distances to front airbags, belt path and
seat position
Safety notes for storage of removed
seats with a side airbag:
Risk of explosion by explosive
material in the side airbag
Death or serious injury
Side airbags contain explosive materi-
al. For this reason, the seats with a
side airbag must be stored in such a
way that they cannot end up in the
hands of children.
Secure the electrical connections fur-
ther to protect the contacts from im-
proper use, soiling and damage. The
corresponding connectors are sup-
plied with the installation kit or can be
purchased through specialist dealers.
We recommend a storage area provid-
ing protection against improper use of
the seats and which does not subject
them to extreme ambient conditions or
great fluctuations in temperature.
The side airbag module is active even
if the seat has been removed. For this
reason, only trained specialists may
work on removed seats with a side
airbag.
