Each button has an LED assigned to it. These LEDs can be used to indicate certain functions.
The LEDs of the two keys at the bottom have two different colors (only CS 290 and CS 290-U).

Description and installation

elmeg CS290
This system telephone is designed for connection to an internal S0-port (4 wires) of an elmeg pabx system.
elmeg CS290-U
This system telephone is designed for connection to an internal Up0-port (2 wires) of an elmeg pabx sys-
tem. The system telephone comes with an ISDN port to which further ISDN terminal devices can be connec-
ted.
elmeg IP-S290
Connect this system telephone to the corresponding LAN port (or network) of the PABX system using a Cat.
5 cable. The system telephone is equipped with a PC output that can be used to connect other IP terminal de-
vices.
Setting up/ Configuring the system-telephone
On the system telephone itself you can only carry out a limited configuration of the supported features.
Complete configuration of the system telephone is possible only via the appropriate ports of the elmeg
PABX system.

Safety notes

• Mind the storage and operation temperatures for the device listed in the technical specifications.
Only connect the device when the permissible ambient operating temperature has been reached.
• Please note that condensation on or in the unit must be prevented when moving from cold to warm
surroundings. Only remove the unit from the package when the permissible ambient operating tem-
perature has been reached.
• You should not make calls or connect or disconnect any lines during thunderstorms.
• Only attach the connecting cords at the connections provided.
• Make sure phone cables are installed in a safe manner to prevent tripping.
