8. Setup and operation

If you have placed the outdoor unit and the indoor unit next to each other for test purposes and put them
into operation, please note that the microphone and speaker may produce loud feedback noises.
Such behaviour is normal.
Keep a distance of several metres between the outdoor unit and the indoor unit to avoid such feedback
noises during testing. Alternatively, temporarily apply several layers of duct tape on the microphone open-
ings.
Plug the included power adapter into a proper mains socket.
The " " power LED (2) on the indoor unit will go on. The video door intercom system is then ready for use; it is in
standby mode.
If the LED does not go on, immediately unplug the power adapter from the mains socket and check the
wiring.

a) Visitor rings at the outdoor unit

• As soon as a visitor has pressed the bell button on the outdoor unit, the standby mode will end, the outdoor unit
camera will turn on and the white LEDs will go on. The camera image appears on the monitor of the indoor unit.
In addition, the speaker of the indoor unit will play a bell melody.
The bell melody will stop automatically in a few seconds; if you do not want to talk to the visitor, the image
on the indoor unit monitor will disappear in approx. 40 seconds. Finally, the video door intercom system
returns to the standby mode.
