unit must be set. It must be taken into
account, whether or not the flash unit is being
operated with a reflector diffuser.
Attaching / removing wide-angle diffuser
Slide the wide angle diffuser from above, over
the reflector (1). To remove the wide angle diffus-
er, pull it from bottom to top from the reflector.
Operation with wide-angle diffuser
When using the 24mm wide angle diffuser on
the flash unit, press the ZOOM button (5) –the
text WIDE appears in the LC Display (4).
Operation without diffuser
For operation without the wide angle diffuser on
the flash unit, press the ZOOM button (5) –the
WIDE text disappears from the LC Display (4).
The setting is immediately effective and auto-
matically saved.
Note:
Camera models other than the LEICA D-LUX 4
will possibly not transmit any digital data to
the flash unit. As in this case, the range is not
indicated, the reflector status cannot be set or
is not required.

Flash modes

The different flash modes, e.g.
flash mode M and
peated depression of the MODE button (3).
The selected flash mode flashes on the LC dis-
play (2) of the flash unit.

You can take very good flash shots in a straight-

forward manner in
flash mode, the exposure is measured by a sen-
sor in the camera. This measures the light en-
tering the camera through the lens (TTL =
"Through The Lens"). The advantage of this
flash mode is that all factors influencing expo-
sure (filters, change of aperture and focal
length with zoom lens, extensions for close-
ups, etc.) are automatically taken into account
in adjusting the flash light.
