Problems
Water comes out of the holes in
the soleplate
Brown or white liquids come out
of the holes in the solepate and
stain the material
The soleplate is dirty (or brown);
it can stain the material
There is insufficient, or no, steam
The soleplate is scratched or dam-
aged

Possible causes
• The temperature of the steam is too
low or the iron is not hot enough
• Water has condensed in the tube
because you are using the steam for
the first time or you have not used the
iron for some time
• The thermostat is not adjusted properly:
the temperature is always too low
• You are using chemical de-scaling
products
• Your are putting additives into the
water (lavender water, fabric dress-
ings or finishers)
• Small pieces of material are stuck to
the holes in the soleplate and have
become charred
• The iron is set to too high a
temperature
• The items you are ironing are not
rinsed properly or you are using starch
• The steam generator is not working
• The steam generator is empty
• You have put your iron down on a
rough surface
• Your iron has been dropped or suf-
fered a hard knock

Solutions
• Increase the temperature of the iron
using the thermostat
• Make sure the iron swith is on
• Depress the steam control button
until the iron emits steam
• Contact your customer services
department
• Do not use these types of product:
they will damage your iron
• Do not add anything to the steam
generator
• Clean the soleplate and wipe it with
a damp cloth
• Adjust the thermostat correctly
• Clean the soleplate and wipe it with
a damp cloth
• Always crush the starch on the oppo-
site side of the surface to iron
• Turn on the steam generator switch
• Wait until the steam indicator light
illuminates
• Fill the reservoir according to the
instructions
• Always put the iron down on the sil-
icon mat
