General
VPA is a series of accumulator tanks primarily intended
for connection to heat pumps. They are also suitable for
use with other heat sources.
Design
The accumulator tanks consist of a hot water tank and a
surrounding, double walled sheet steel jacket. The water
tanks are lined with copper to prevent corrosion.
The accumulator tanks are designed and manufactured
for a maximum cut-off pressure of 10 bar in the hot wa-
ter tank. Max working pressure in the double jacket is 3
bar. Maximum permitted temperature is 95 °C.
The insulation is polyurethane, which provides excel-
lent heat insulation. The VPA is equipped with a heating
element outlet and an immersion sensor for control of
water heating.
The outer shell of the VPA 450/300 is grey plastic.
Erecting the accumulator tank
The accumulator tank is unscrewed from the pallet and
lifted into position, use the lifting eye / eyes (Cu) on the
top if necessary. On VPA 450/300, the top insulation
must be removed to provide access to the lifting eyes.
The accumulator tank may only be installed vertically
and can be aligned using the adjustable feet (10).
Once the accumulator tank is in the correct position, re-
move the lifting device from the top. (VPA 450/300 -Cu)

Assembly
VPA 450/300 can be supplemented with up to two
immersion heaters. The connection size is G2 and the
maximum immersion heater length is 750 mm.
The insulation on VPA 450/300 is removable, see the
inside cover, to allow handling in confined spaces (the
water heater diameter without insulation is 770 mm).
Lift off the top cover

Loosen all the screws along the joining plate on

both jacket halves.
Pull the insulated jacket halves straight off.

Carry out assembly in the reverse order. If the screws are
difficult to fit in the old holes, the plate can be turned
upside and down, which gives new, unused holes in the
insulated jacket halves.
Fit the supplied cover discs before pipe installation. The
cover discs, with self-adhesive backs, must be fitted on
the relevant connection by pushing them over the con-
nections.
All connections (including those not used) must be insu-
lated to minimise idle losses.
The docking connection (6) (Cu) is also used for bleed-
ing the double jacket space. It is therefore important
that a valve or similar, which allows bleeding, is in-
stalled if the docking connection is used.
The lifting eye in the top of the VPA is removable (can
be unscrewed). A plug for covering the hole left by the
lifting eye is supplied in the kit.
The four feet for VPA 450/300 are height adjustable.
NOTE!
Fit the cover discs before the pipe instal-
lation is made.
