2 Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Dieses Gerät entspricht den EU-Richtlinien Nr.
89/336/EWG für elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit
und Nr. 73/23/EWG für Niederspannungsgeräte.
Das Gerät wird mit lebensgefährlicher Netzspan-
nung (230 V~) versorgt. Nehmen Sie deshalb nie-
mals selbst Eingriffe im Gerät vor. Durch unsach-
gemäßes Vorgehen besteht die Gefahr eines
elektrischen Schlages. Außerdem erlischt beim
Öffnen des Gerätes jeglicher Garantieanspruch.
Beachten Sie für den Betrieb auch unbedingt die fol-
genden Punkte:

Das Gerät ist nur zur Verwendung in Räumen
geeignet.
•
Schützen Sie das Gerät vor Feuchtigkeit und Hitze
(zulässiger Einsatztemperaturbereich 0–40°C).

Das Gerät nicht in Betrieb nehmen und sofort den

2 Safety Notes
This appliance corresponds to the EC Directives No.
89/336/EWG for electromagnetic compatibility and
No. 73/23/EWG for low voltage appliances.
This unit uses lethally high voltage (230 V~). To
prevent a shock hazard do not open the cabinet.
Leave servicing to authorized skilled personnel
only. Any guarantee claim expires if the unit has
been opened.
For the operation also watch in any case the follow-
ing items:
•
The unit is only suitable for indoor use.
•
Avoid excessively warm locations (permisseble
operating temperature range 0–40°C) for the unit
or high humidity.
•
Do not set the unit into operation and immediately
take the mains plug out of the mains socket if:
1. damage at the unit or mains cable can be seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or
similar accident,
3. there are malfunctions.

durch den Hersteller oder eine autorisierte Fach-
werkstatt ersetzt werden.

Den Netzstecker nie an der Zuleitung aus der
Steckdose ziehen.
•
Wird das Gerät zweckentfremdet, falsch bedient
oder nicht fachgerecht repariert, kann für eventu-
elle Schäden keine Haftung übernommen werden.
•
Für die Reinigung nur ein trockenes Staubtuch ver-
wenden, auf keinen Fall Chemikalien oder Wasser.
3 Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Der MMX-28 ist speziell zum Mischen von bis zu
8 Mono-Mikrofonen konzipiert. Das Ausgangssignal
kann über die 3fach-Klangregelung optimiert und mit
dem MASTER-Regler in der Lautstärke verändert
werden. Es stehen zwei Ausgangspegel High (0 dB)
und Low (-10 dB) parallel zur Anpassung an das
nachfolgende Gerät zur Verfügung.
4 Aufstellmöglichkeiten
Der MMX-28 ist für den Einschub in ein 19"-Rack vor-
gesehen, kann aber auch als Tischgerät verwendet
oder z. B. in einer Schrankwand aufgestellt werden.
5 Gerät anschließen
1) Die Mikrofone über die Eingangsbuchsen MIC
1-8 (10) anschließen.
2) Den Verstärker bzw. das nachfolgende Gerät an
die Buchse OUT HI (8) anschließen bzw. wenn
der Ausgangspegel des MMX-28 zu hoch ist, an
die Buchse OUT LO (9).
3) Zum Schluß das Gerät an eine Steckdose
(230 V~ / 50 Hz) anschließen.

A damaged mains cable must only be repaired by
the manufacturer or authorized skilled personnel.
•
Never pull the mains plug out of the mains socket
by means of the mains cable.
•
If the unit is used for purposes other than originally
intended, if it is operated in the wrong way or not
repaired by authorized skilled personnel, there is
no liability for possible damage.
•
For the cleaning only use a dry cloth for dust re-
moving, by no means chemicals or water.

The wires in this mains lead are coloured in ac-
cordance with the following code:
blue = neutral
" jack, output level high

brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this

" jack, output level low
appliance may not correspond with the coloured

markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:

1. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the let-
ter N or coloured black.
2. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the let-
ter L or coloured red.
3 Applications
The MMX-28 is especially designed for mixing up to
8 mono microphones. The output signal can be opti-
mized via the 3-way equalizer and the volume is
adjustable with the MASTER control. Two output
levels, high (0 dB) and low (-10 dB), are equipped for
matching to the following unit.
4 Mounting
The MMX-28 is designed for 19" rack installation. It is
also suitable for being mounted e. g. in a cabinet or
for use as a table top unit.
5 Connecting the Unit
1) Connect the microphones via the input jacks MIC
1-8 (10).
6 Bedienung
1) Vor dem ersten Einschalten alle Eingangsregler
(1) und den MASTER-Regler (3) auf Null stellen.
2) Um laute Einschaltgeräusche zu vermeiden, zu-
erst den MMX-28 einschalten und dann das nach-
folgende Gerät. Zur Einschaltkontrolle leuchtet
die LED ON (6)
3) Mit den Eingangsreglern (1) die gewünschte
Lautstärke der Mikrofone untereinander einstel-
len und mit dem MASTER-Regler (3) die Gesamt-
lautstärke. Wenn die Übersteuerungsanzeige
PEAK (4) aufleuchtet, den Eingangsregler (1) für
das entsprechende Mikrofon oder den MASTER-
Regler (3) etwas zurückdrehen.
4) Alle Regler (1) der Eingänge, die nicht benutzt
werden, auf Null stellen.
5) Den Klang für alle Mikrofone gemeinsam mit den
Reglern BASS, MID und TREBLE (2) optimieren.

2) Connect the amplifier respectively the following
unit to the jack OUT HI (8) or to the jack OUT LO
(9) if the output level of the MMX-28 is too high.
3) Finally, connect the unit to a mains socket
(230 V~/50 Hz).
6 Operation
1) Before switching on the unit, set all input controls
(1) and the MASTER control (3) to minimum.
2) In order to avoid strong inrush bump, at first
switch on the MMX-28 and then the following unit.
The power LED (6) serves as control device and
is illuminated.
3) Adjust the desired volume of the microphones via
the input controls (1) and set the total volume with
the MASTER control (3). Should the overload
indication PEAK (4) light, slightly turn back the
respective input control (1) of the microphone or
the MASTER control (3).
4) Turn all controls (1) of the inputs which are not
being used to minimum.
5) Optimize the tone for all microphones in common
with the BASS, MID and TREBLE controls (2).
