2. INSTALLATION

2.1 Package Contents

2.2. Location
Use the scale on a firm, steady surface. Avoid locations with excessive air current,
vibrations, heat sources, or rapid temperature changes.
2.4 Power
Power the scale using the AC power adapter (included) or 4 AA batteries.
AC Power Connection
Plug the jack from the adapter into the receptacle located on the right side of the
balance. Connect the AC adaptor to a properly grounded electrical outlet.
Battery Installation
Turn the balance over and remove the battery cover. Install 4 AA batteries in the
battery compartment, orienting the minus (-) ends against the coil springs and the
plus (+) ends against the buttons. Replace the battery cover.

2.5 Initial Calibration

When the scale is first installed, it should be calibrated to ensure accurate weighing
results. Refer to section 4.1 Calibration Menu.
