FLANGE BACK Instruction Manual
Your camcorder has been upgraded to add support for new functions. This document describes how to
use the functions added with "HXR-NX3-series Ver. 2.10" and "HXR-NX5R-series Ver. 1.10." Refer also to the
Operating Guide for the camcorder.
Flange Back Adjustment Method
Preparation
■
Always perform the following preparation before adjustment.
 Remove attachments, such as a conversion lens.

Set to normal shooting mode.
 Set the marker display to ON, and display the center marker on the screen.
 
Place a fl ange back adjustment chart (A3 size is recommended) about 2 m (6 ft) from the camcorder.
Print the "FB_Adj_chart.pdf" fl ange back adjustment chart, included on the supplied CD-ROM or with
the update fi rmware downloaded from the web site, on A3 size paper.

Set the zoom to the telephoto side, and align the center of the fl ange back adjustment chart
the center marker on the screen.

Set the recording format to [1080/60p], [1080/50p], [1080/60i], or [1080/50i].

 Set the AUTO/MANUAL switch to MANUAL, and set the shutter speed, gain, and iris to the following
settings.
- Set the shutter speed to AUTO.
- Set the gain to [0dB].
- Set the zoom to the wide angle side, and set the iris to [F1.6] (open).
 
Adjust the light level to an appropriate level using the ND FILTER switch .
When you fi nish the preparation, perform the following automatic adjustment or manual adjustment.
Adjusting Automatically

Select (CAMERA SET) menu [FLANGE BACK] [AUTO ADJUST].
2 Check the messages displayed on the screen, select [OK] or [YES] as required using the SEL/PUSH EXEC
 
dial (HXR-NX3) or SEL/SET dial (HXR-NX5R), and press the dial to confi rm.
Flange back adjustment begins, and "Executing..." is displayed on the screen.
When the adjustment is fi nished, "Completed." is displayed on the screen.
3 Confi rm the message display, then turn off the camcorder.
Do not remove the battery pack or disconnect the AC adaptor until the following lamp is completely
turned off . If the battery pack is removed or the AC adaptor is disconnected while the lamp is blinking,
the adjustment result will not be applied.

Check that the lamp is completely turned off , and then turn on the camcorder.
5 Check that the adjustment has been applied on the screen or on a monitor.

Note
If the adjustment is not successful, "Could not adjust." is displayed on the screen. Check the preparatory
steps before adjustment, and then perform the adjustment again.

Tips
Check the following items if the adjustment is not successful.
 Check that the brightness of the fl ange back adjustment chart is appropriate.

Check that the fl ange back adjustment chart is not too close or too far away.
 Check that steps in "Preparation" were performed correctly.

Check that there are no bright objects, such as lights, refl ected in the camera image.
 Check that the ND FILTER switch is set to an appropriate position.
■ Adjusting Manually
1 Select (CAMERA SET) menu  [FLANGE BACK]  [MANUAL ADJUST].

Check the messages displayed on the screen, select [OK] or [YES] as required using the SEL/PUSH EXEC
 
dial (HXR-NX3) or SEL/SET dial (HXR-NX5R), and press the dial to confi rm.
Flange back adjustment begins, and the camcorder zooms automatically to the first adjustment
position. There are seven adjustment positions.

3 At each adjustment position (zooming stops), turn the focus ring
 
SEL/PUSH EXEC dial (HXR-NX3) or SEL/SET dial (HXR-NX5R).
The camcorder automatically zooms to the next adjustment position.
4 Repeat step for all adjustment positions.

When all adjustments are fi nished, "Completed." is displayed on the screen.

Confi rm the message display, then turn off the camcorder.
Do not remove the battery pack or disconnect the AC adaptor until the following lamp is completely
turned off . If the battery pack is removed or the AC adaptor is disconnected while the lamp is blinking,
the adjustment result will not be applied.


Méthode d'ajustement arrière de la collerette
Préparatifs
■
Effectuez toujours les préparatifs avant l'ajustement.
 Retirez les accessoires, comme un objectif de conversion.

Réglez sur le mode de prise de vue normal.
 Réglez l 'affichage de repère sur ON, et affichez le repère central sur l'écran.
 
Placez le modèle d 'ajustement arrière de la collerette (format A3 recommandé) à environ 2 m (6 pi)
du caméscope. Imprimez le modèle d'ajustement arrière de la collerette « FB_Adj_chart.pdf », inclus
sur le CD-ROM fourni ou le micrologiciel de mise à jour téléchargé du site Web, sur du papier au format

with A3.
 Réglez le zoom sur le téléobjectif, et alignez le centre du modèle d

avec le repère central de l'écran.
 Réglez le format d 'enregistrement sur [1080/60p], [1080/50p], [1080/60i] ou [1080/50i].
 
Réglez le commutateur AUTO/MANUAL sur MANUAL, et réglez la vitesse d'obturation, le gain et le
diaphragme sur les réglages suivants.
- Réglez la vitesse d 'obturation sur AUTO.
- Réglez le gain sur [0dB].
- Réglez le zoom sur grand angle, et réglez le diaphragme sur [F1.6] (ouvert).
 Ajustez le niveau de lumière sur un niveau approprié à l 'aide du commutateur ND FILTER
Une fois les préparatifs terminés, effectuez l'ajustement automatique ou l'ajustement manuel suivant.
■ Ajustement automatique
1 électionnez le menu (CAMERA SET)  [FLANGE BACK]  [AUTO ADJUST].

Vérifiez les messages affichés sur l'écran, sélectionnez [OK] ou [YES] selon le besoin à l'aide de la
 
molette SEL/PUSH EXEC (HXR-NX3) ou la molette SEL/SET (HXR-NX5R), et appuyez sur la molette
pour confirmer.
L'ajustement arrière de la collerette commence et « Executing... » s'affiche sur l'écran.
Une fois l'ajustement terminé, « Completed. » s'affiche sur l'écran.
3 Confirmez l'affichage du message puis mettez le caméscope hors tension.
Ne retirez pas la batterie et ne débranchez pas l'adaptateur secteur avant que le témoin suivant ne soit
complètement éteint. Si la batterie est retirée ou si l'adaptateur secteur est débranché pendant que le
témoin clignote, l'ajustement ne sera pas appliqué.

Vérifiez que le témoin est complètement éteint puis mettez le caméscope à nouveau sous tension.
5 Vérifiez que l'ajustement a été appliqué sur l'écran ou sur un moniteur.

Remarque
Si l'ajustement n'a pas réussi, « Could not adjust. » s'affiche sur l'écran. Vérifiez les étapes préparatoires à
l'ajustement puis effectuez à nouveau l'ajustement.

Conseils
Vérifiez les éléments suivants si l'ajustement n'a pas réussi.
 Vérifiez que la luminosité du modèle d 'ajustement arrière de la collerette est approprié.

Vérifiez que le modèle d 'ajustement arrière de la collerette n'est pas trop rapproché ou trop éloigné.
 Vérifiez que les étapes dans « Préparatifs » ont été effectués correctement.

Vérifiez qu 'aucun objet lumineux, par exemple des éclairages, n'est réfléchi dans l'image de caméra.
 Vérifiez que le commutateur ND FILTER est réglé sur une position correcte.

FLANGE BACK-Bedienungsanleitung
Ihr Camcorder wurde aktualisiert und unterstützt jetzt neue Funktionen. Dieses Dokument beschreibt
die Verwendung der mit „HXR-NX3-Serie Version 2.10" und „HXR-NX5R-Serie Version 1.10" hinzugefügten
Funktionen. Ziehen Sie auch die Bedienungsanleitung des Camcorders zurate.
Vorgehensweise zur Einstellung des Auflagemaßes
Vorbereitung
■
Führen Sie stets die folgenden vorbereitenden Schritte aus, ehe Sie die Einstellungen vornehmen.
 Entfernen Sie alle angebrachten Zubehörteile wie z. B. Konvertierungslinsen.

Schalten Sie den Camcorder in den normalen Aufnahmemodus.
 Stellen Sie die Markierungsanzeige auf ON und zeigen Sie die Mittenmarkierung auf dem Bildschirm
an.
 Positionieren Sie in ca. 2 m Entfernung vom Camcorder eine Auflagemaß-Einstellungskarte
(empfohlenes Format: A3).
Drucken Sie die auf der mitgelieferten CD-ROM enthaltene oder mit dem Firmware-Update von der
'ajustement arrière de la collerette Webseite heruntergeladene Datei „FB_Adj_chart.pdf" mit dem Auflagemaß-Einstellungsmuster auf
Papier im Format A3 aus.
 Stellen Sie den Zoom in die Teleposition und richten Sie das Zentrum der Auflagemaß-Einstellungskarte

an der Mittenmarkierung auf dem Bildschirm aus.
 Stellen Sie das Aufzeichnungsformat auf [1080/60p], [1080/50p], [1080/60i] oder [1080/50i] ein.
 
Stellen Sie den Schalter AUTO/MANUAL
Blende folgendermaßen ein.
- Stellen Sie die Verschlusszeit auf AUTO.
 . - Stellen Sie die Verstärkung auf [0dB].
- Stellen Sie den Zoom in die Weitwinkelposition und die Blende auf [F1.6] (offen).
 
Stellen Sie mit dem Schalter ND FILTER
Führen Sie nach dem Abschluss der Vorbereitungen automatisch oder manuell die folgende Einstellung
durch.
Automatische Einstellung
■
1 Wählen Sie im Menü (CAMERA SET)
2 Überprüfen Sie die Meldungen auf dem Bildschirm, wählen Sie nach Bedarf mit dem Regler SEL/
 
PUSH EXEC (HXR-NX3) oder SEL/SET
Bestätigung den Regler.
Die Einstellung des Auflagemaßes wird gestartet und die Meldung „Executing..." wird angezeigt.
Wenn die Einstellung abgeschlossen ist, wird die Meldung „Completed." angezeigt.
3 Bestätigen Sie die angezeigte Meldung und schalten Sie den Camcorder aus.
Belassen Sie den Batteriesatz bzw. das Netzteil stets so lange am Gerät, bis die folgende LED
vollständig erloschen ist. Wenn der Akku oder das Netzteil vom Gerät getrennt wird, während die LED
blinkt, wird das Ergebnis der Einstellung nicht übernommen.

4 Stellen Sie sicher, dass die LED vollständig erloschen ist, und schalten Sie dann den Camcorder aus.
5 Überprüfen Sie auf dem Bildschirm oder einem Monitor, dass die Einstellung übernommen wurde.

Hinweis
Wenn die Einstellung nicht erfolgreich abgeschlossen wird, wird die Meldung „Could not adjust."
angezeigt. Überprüfen Sie die vorbereitenden Schritte für die Anpassung und führen Sie dann die
Einstellung erneut durch.
 Tipps
Wenn die Einstellung fehlschlägt, überprüfen Sie die folgenden Punkte.
 Stellen Sie die geeignete Beleuchtung der Auflagemaß-Einstellungskarte sicher.
 Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Auflagemaß-Einstellungskarte sich nicht zu nahe am Camcorder oder zu
 [FLANGE BACK]  [MANUAL ADJUST]. weit entfernt von diesem befindet.
 Stellen Sie sicher, dass die in „Vorbereitung
 wurden.

 Stellen Sie sicher, dass sich im Kamerabild keine hellen Objekte wie zum Beispiel Lampen befinden.



