WARNING!
Risk of injury due to detaching appli-
ance parts
Appliance parts detaching during opera-
tion can lead to serious injury.
■
Attach cutting tools so that they can-
not detach during operation.
Dismantling the spool head
1. Insert the retaining pin supplied (06/1) into
the hole (06/2) of the drive pulley (06/3) and
hold.
2. Turn the spool head (08/1) anti-clockwise
and then remove (08/b). Brace with the re-
taining pin (06/1).
3. Remove the retaining pin (06/1).
4. Remove the filling washer (06/4).
4.5
Fitting/removing the blade (09, 10)
Fitting the blade
1. If fitted: Remove the spool head (see chapter
4.4 "Removing/fitting the spool
head (06, 07, 08)", page 23).
2. Insert the retaining pin supplied (09/1) into
the hole (09/2) of the drive pulley (09/3) and
hold.
3. Put the blade (09/4) and washer (09/5) onto
the drive shaft (09/6). The inscription on the
blade must point outwards, i.e. away from the
cutter head, (covered in the figure of the
washer).
4. Put the locknut (10/1) onto the drive shaft
and firmly tighten by hand in a clockwise dir-
ection.
5. Firmly tighten the locknut (10/1) with the
socket wrench (10/2) provided. Brace with
the retaining pin (09/1) to attach the blade se-

appliance

ating instructions.
5 OPERATION
5.1
Switching the appliance on and off
See "Multitool MT 36 Li – basic appliance" oper-
ating instructions.
5.2
Prolonging the cutting line during
operation (11)
The cutting line shortens during operation and
frays out.
1. Tap (11/a) the spool head (11/1) on the
ground from time to time. This unwinds a
piece of new cutting line from the spool and
cuts off the used line end of the line cutter
(11/2).
6 WORKING BEHAVIOUR AND
WORKING TECHNIQUE (12 – 14)
■
Slightly tip the appliance forwards (approx.
30°) to mow with the tip of the cutting line.
Walk forwards slowly (12/a).
■
When mowing, swivel the appliance evenly to
the right and left (12/b).
■
Long grass must be mown in several passes.
Always proceed from top to bottom (13).
■
The appliance cuts best at very high speed.
Therefore, do not overload the appliance by
cutting long grass.
■
If the appliance is overloaded in long grass,
the line will be blocked. Immediately lift the
appliance so it releases. Otherwise, the mo-
tor could be permanently damaged.
■
Do not move the appliance directly against
hard obstacles (e.g. walls), but mow side-
ways. This protects the cutting line (14).
■
Keep the appliance away from sensitive
plants. Fold the protective bracket into the
horizontal position.
