Getting Started

The ceiling alarm is operational immediately after inserting the batteries and installation.
With the "ARM/DISARM" button, you can turn the ceiling alarm on and off. For this purpose, point the reddish/
transparent front of the IR remote control at the red plastic cover on the ceiling alarm.
The IR remote control functions up to a 30° angle to the IR receiver in the ceiling alarm, with a maximum
distance of approx. 6 m.
Stand-by
• red LED off
• green LED off
Arming phase
• red LED off
• green LED on
• one beep

Alarm delay, 15s

• green LED off
Alarm tone activated, 45s
• red LED fl ashes
• green LED off
• Alarm tone is activated
for 45 seconds and stops
automatically afterwards
• After an pause of 45
seconds, the ceiling alarm
is re-armed
Standby (idle mode):
If you insert batteries into the ceiling alarm or connect it to an external power supply unit, the ceiling alarm
switches to standby mode. Here, neither of the two LEDs fl ash.
A red LED lights up behind the transparent PIR sensor lens, when the ceiling alarm detects a temperature
change in the detection area. This function can be used to monitor the detection area of the PIR motion
detector.
The ceiling alarm can be turned on using the IR remote control.
Arming phase:
When the ceiling alarm is in standby mode, briefl y press the "ARM/DISARM" button on the IR remote control
once. The ceiling alarm switches to the so-called arming phase. You will hear a short beep and the green
LED will light up for approx. 30 seconds. While in the arming phase, you can reset the ceiling alarm back to
standby mode by pressing the "ARM/DISARM" button.
If the arming phase is not cancelled, the ceiling alarm is armed after 30 seconds. It is now in alarm mode.
For this reason, you have to leave the detection area within these 30 seconds, otherwise you will
trigger the alarm.
Alert mode:
After an arming phase of 30 seconds, the ceiling alarm switches automatically to the alert mode. The green
LED goes out and the red LED starts to fl ash. The ceiling alarm is now armed and monitors any temperature
changes in the PIR motion detector's detection area.
Alarm delay:
If the ceiling alarm is armed (red LED fl ashes), and someone enters the detection area, the alarm delay is
triggered, which lasts for 15 seconds (no alarm tone is emitted yet).
If you press the "ARM/DISARM" button on the IR remote control within these 15 seconds (point the front of
the IR remote control at the ceiling alarm!), the alarm will be switched off and returned to the standby mode.
Thus, you have 15 seconds to deactivate the ceiling alarm when you enter your apartment before the alarm
tone is triggered.
Alarm tone activated:
If someone enters the detection area without authorisation (the ceiling alarm is not deactivated using the IR
remote control), the alarm tone is activated after 15 seconds, and it will last for 45 seconds, if a temperature
change is detected in the detection area.
After this, the alarm tone is switched off automatically. After 45 seconds waiting time, the ceiling alarm is
armed once again and can trigger a new alarm, if a temperature change is detected in the PIR motion detec-
tor's detection area.
Testing the detection area
• Set the ceiling alarm to the standby mode (none of the LEDs fl ash, ceiling alarm turned off).
• Move into the PIR detection detector's detection area.
• If a temperature change is detected, a red LED lights up behind the transparent PIR sensor lens. You may
have to darken the room a bit, so that you can see the LED better.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Apart from the the occasional battery change, the product is maintenance-free.
Repair or maintenance work must be carried out by a specialist.
Clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth.
Press once briefl y
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions since these might damage the surface of the
casing or impair the operation.
