9.3 Using the gas detector to
"feel around" the pipe

Slowly "feeling around" the connection
points has proven successful in practice. This
is the best way to detect any small bubble of
gas escaping. Depending on the strength of
the gas concentration, the test process will
take around 2 – 3 seconds. When testing, this
means that briefly coming close to the fitting
or screw connection is not enough to detect
small gas leaks.
