Operating Instruction

Operating the device

1. Switch on the leak indicator with the slide
switch - move the slide switch to the left -
all LEDs light up. A short continuous tone
sounds and the heat-up phase of approx.
25 s starts. The green LED
lights up and a ticker indicates that the de-
vice is ready.
2. If a gas leak is detected, the acoustic sig-
nal (ticker) speeds up as the concentration
increases.
3. If the first switching threshold is exceeded -
100 ppm - the yellow LED lights up
4. If the second switching threshold is ex-
ceeded - 1 Vol% - the red LED lights up
- continuous tone sounds.
The leak indicator must not be used as a
measuring device or for personal protection!

Calibrating the device

Recalibrating the second switching threshold
1. Switch on the device, wait for the heat-up
phase.
2. Apply test gas 1 Vol% methane on the
diffusion head. Keep the test gas flow ext-
remely low during the calibration process.
3. Use a screwdriver to set the potentiometer
so that the red LED lights up and a conti-
nuous tone sounds.
4. End of the calibration process.

Charging the NiMH batteries
1. Charging should take place in a tempera-
ture range from 0 to 45°C
2. Over 500 charge and discharge cycles can
be expected.
then 3. Please only charge the batteries in the
device via the charging socket when the
device is switched off!
4. Long periods of storage or charging the
battery for too long reduces the cell capa-
city. This capacity loss can be compensa-
ted for with a full charge or 1 to 3 charge
and discharge cycles.
Calibration data
All gas warning units are pre-calibrated for
the following measuring levels in the factory:
Methane: - 100 ppm
- 1 Vol%
Propane: - 100 ppm
- 0.5 Vol%
