1. Introduction
Before starting to use the tool please read the
instruction manual carefully.
Use this tool exclusively for its determined use.
Mounting and assembly of fittings and tubes with the help of this
tool must only be performed by specially trained personnel. The
minimum age is 16 years.
This instruction manual has to be carried along during the entire life
span of that tool.
The operator has
- to guaranty the availability of the instruction manual for the user
and
- to make sure, that the user has read and understood the instruction
manual.
2. Labels
On the labels fixed on the left and the right side of the housing of
the tool you'll find the type specification and the name of the
manufacturer or the company logo. On the top of the housing you'll
find a label with the company name/logo, the type specification, a
brief presentation of the technical data and the serial number.
On the pressing head you'll find a warning decal against possible
injuries during the pressing process.
3. Warranty
If correct operation is guaranteed and regular service is provided our
warranty is 12 months from the time of delivery or 10.000 pressing
cycles.
4. Description of the universal pressing unit
The universal pressing unit type UP2EL-14 is a hand held tool and
consists of the following components:

5. Remarks in respect of the determined use
5.1. Operation of the units
First you have to select the right pressing jaw for the intended
application.
To insert or change the pressing jaw please follow the enclosed
instructions: (see picture 2-7)
After mounting the fitting on the tube the pressing jaws will be
opened by pushing the rear end of the pressing jaw together and the
jaw has to be positioned on the fitting.
The pressing cycle will be initiated by actuating the trigger (Pos.-
No. 1) while the directional control switch (Pos.-No. 2) is in a
forward motion position.
The forward motion of the drive rolls being attached to the front
part of the ram can be controlled by sensitively actuating the trigger
(Pos.-No. 1).
Attention
The pressing process can be interrupted at any
moment by releasing the trigger.
Attention
A necessary condition for a permanently leaking free
connection is that the pressing cycle has to be
completed which means that the pressing jaws
completely closed.
The machine has an integrated clutch which will switch off at a
defined torque with a audible „pop". If this acoustic signal should
not occur the unit has to be checked according to chapter 9.
The user needs to make sure that the pressing jaws completely
closed and that there are no foreign objects (e.g. plaster or stone
fractions) between the pressing jaws.
With the directional control switch (Pos.-No. 2) the turning
direction of the spindle can be changed.
Attention
Do not change the sense of rotation before the motor
came to a complete standstill. Disregarding this
warning can result in a distruction of the motor.
