CC 72000
In Folge der zunehmenden Reisegeschwindigkeiten
auch auf nicht elektrifi zierten Strecken, beschloss die
SNCF die Beschaffung der CC 72000. Das Herz dieser
mächtigen Diesel-Elektrischen Lokomotive ist ein 16-
Zylinder ago-Dieselmotor in V-Anordnung, der einen
Drehstromgenerator antreibt.
Das sechsachsige Fahrgestell mit zwei Elektromotoren
ist dem der CC 6500 weitgehend ähnlich. Die Loko-
motive erlaubt im Reiseverkehr eine Höchstgeschwin-
digkeit von 160 km/h, während im Güterverkehr nur 85
km/h gefahren werden.

Information about the prototype
CC 72000
Due to the increasing speeds of travel also on nonelec-
trifi ed stretches of track, the SNCF has decided to ac-
quire the CC 72000. At the heart of this powerful diesel
and electric locomotive lies a 16-cylinder diesel (AGO)
engine in V-arrangement, driving a 3-phase alternator.
The six-axle chassis with two electric motors is in many
ways similar to that of the CC 6500.
In passenger traffi c, the locomotive permits a top
speed of 160 km/h, while in freight traffi c the speed of
travel is only 85 km/h.
