On the underside of the now! Sound Panel is the electronics unit with two analogue audio
input sockets (AUX 1, AUX 2), a digital optical audio input socket (Optical) and an analogue
audio output socket for an active subwoofer (SubOut). A Bluetooth receiver is integrated for
wireless reception of music/language (BT). All standard units (CD players / TV sets, etc.) with
a corresponding output socket can be connected to the input sockets (AUX 1, AUX 2) (stereo
cinch inputs). All units with a headset connection can also be connected using a standard
adapter cable (stereo jack to cinch connection). When units are connected via the headset
output socket, please ensure that the volume is turned up. As more and more TV sets are
equipped with digital sound output, their optical sound can be connected completely interfe-
rence-free to the electronics unit/now! Sound Panel with the aid of an optical Toslink cable.
All active subwoofers (low-range speakers with integrated amplifiers) with a corresponding
input socket can be connected to the analogue output socket (SubOut) (stereo cinch out-
put). If passive loudspeakers (without integrated amplifiers) are connected to the SubOut
socket, an extra amplifier is required (not provided – available from dealers).
The now! Sound Panel is completely switched off and is made ready for operation using
the mains switch (ON/Off) on the electronics unit. The now! Sound Panel can be switched
to standby mode using the remote control unit supplied. In standby mode the power used is
reduced to less than 1 watt. There is an LED lamp under the fabric cover on the upper side
of the now! Sound Panel for displaying the operating mode (LED shows through the fabric).
When switched on and in all operating modes the LED lights up "GREEN", in standby mode
the LED lights up "RED".
Note – Auto Power Down function: to keep the electricity that is used down to a minimum,
the now! Sound Panel is equipped with an "Auto Power Down" function. This means that if
no signals are received by the now! Sound Panel (music, language, etc.) from a connected
unit over a period of approximately 10 minutes and/or from the remote control unit supplied,
the now! Sound Panel switches itself automatically into standby mode. The now! Sound
Panel can only be switched on again by pressing the standby button on the remote control
unit. The now! Sound Panel does not switch itself on again automatically when it receives a
new input signal.
The volume can be raised using the Vol + button or lowered using the Vol – button on the
remote control. Pressing the button shortly changes the volume in steps, holding the but-
ton down changes it continuously. Raising or lowering the volume is signalised by the LED
light for the operating mode blinking (upper side of now! Sound Panel). The volume can be
turned off with the Mute button. The LED blinks continuously while the volume is muted. Re-
aching the minimum or the maximum volume will be indicated by the LED flashing three times
in RED.
Note: If the now! Sound Panel is switched on using the mains switch, the now! Sound Pa-
nel reverts to the original volume level set in the factory. If the now! Sound Panel is swit-
ched on out of stand-by modus by remote control, the now! Sound Panel reverts to the
volume level set during the last session. The volume level can then be altered by remote
control.
Select the desired sound input source using the selector buttons AUX 1, AUX 2, OPT (optical
input/Toslink) and BT (Bluetooth) on the remote control.

4 Setting up

Make all the other required connections before connecting the now! Sound Panel to the
mains with the mains cable.
Note: If the now! Sound Panel is switched off at the mains or the mains cable is disconnec-
ted, the audio input AUX 1 automatically will be selected as default setting when reconnec-
ting it using the mains switch or plugging in the mains connection.
4.1 Bluetooth® information – making Bluetooth® connection
The now! Sound Panel operates with the Bluetooth®-Version 3.0+EDR and supports the
A2DP profile (communications protocol for playing music). The performance class 2 at hand
allows connections between 5 and 10 m when there are no hindrances. So the playback unit
must at least fulfil the Bluetooth® standard 2.0 (or higher) and fulfil the A2DP profile. Please
check to see if the playback unit used meets these requirements. Information on this matter
can be found in the operating instructions for your playback unit. The volume can be set by
the remote control unit supplied with the now! Sound Panel as well as by the playback unit.
The now! Sound Panel can be coupled with up to four Bluetooth units, but can only be con-
nected to one unit via Bluetooth® at any one time. Please ensure that there is no connection
to other units.
1) Insert the mains plug of the now! Sound Panel in a mains socket.
2) Wait for approximately 15 seconds and then switch on the Bluetooth®
function on your playback unit.
3) Now press the button with the Bluetooth coupling symbol on the remote control supplied
(blue button) for two seconds. The coupling function is then active for a further 10
seconds.
4) Let your playback unit search for units.
5) The now! Sound Panel is shown in the Bluetooth® menu as "NOW! Sound".
6) Now connect your playback unit to the now! Sound Panel.
If requested to enter a PIN, simply enter 0000 (four times 0).
7) If you would like to couple another playback unit with the now!
Sound Panel (max. four units), please repeat steps 3 to 6.
8) Now start to play the desired music on your playback unit.
9) To end the connection, switch off Bluetooth® on your playback unit.
Note: Coupling/Connecting Bluetooth:
The now! Sound Panel saves up to four Bluetooth coupling connections, so up to four
playback units can be operated alternately without these having to be recoupled (the now!
Sound Panel appears permanently in the Bluetooth list of your playback unit under the
name "NOW! Sound" – until it is deleted manually). The advantage of this is that the now!
Sound Panel automatically recognises your playback unit and displays it in the Bluetooth
list as soon as you are within reception range. Now the connection can be made quickly and
without entering any code. However, if a "fifth" unit is coupled, the unit coupled the first is
automatically deleted and must be recoupled later if required.
