USB interface
Initially, the instrument is equipped with 3 AA batteries. You can also
use rechargeable batteries or an optional accu-pack (REF 919 391),
which can be charged via the USB interface. It is also possible to
run the instrument via the USB port only.

4. Operation

4.1. Turning on the instrument

Press the button with the On / Off symbol once. The instrument pow-
ers up and the screen is illuminated. You can see instrument name
and firmware version. During the start-up phase, the instrument
also performs a self-check. Then, the instrument jumps directly into
the measurement mode.

4.2. User guidance

The instrument is designed for easy and intuitive use. The user
guidance is based entirely on icons, which can be activated via the
four activity-buttons below the display.
The screen itself is subdivided into three areas. The upper status
bar shows date and time as well as the battery life.
In the middle of the screen you can see the actual data such as
results or menu icons.
The lowest bar contains the activity-icons. The icons always repre-
sent a concrete function, which can be accessed with the underly-
