5. How to install

If you are not a skilled expert for installation get the device instal-
led by an EXPERIENCED ELECTRICIAN or at a specialized works-
hop.
Inexpert installation will damage both the power supply unit and
your computer and all devices connected to it. Moreover, this
involves dangers such as short-circuits, electric shocks or the
risk of fire.
Attention: Danger to life !
Turn off the computer in which the power supply unit is to be
installed, and all devices connected to it and disconnect all devi-
ces from the mains voltage. Pull out the main switch. It is insuffi-
cient to turn the computer off via the mains switch.
• Open the casing of your computer, removing the lid of the casing with great care.
• If the power supply unit is to serve as a substitute for a defective power supply
unit, for instance, first dismount the old, defective power supply unit. Initially, cau-
tiously extract all plugs which connect to the main board and the devices instal-
led. Then, loosen all screws which retain the power supply unit in the casing and
cautiously take out the defective power supply unit.
• Fix the power supply unit in your PC casing, using 4 screws (inch-measure threa-
ded and 6 - 7 mm in max. screw length)
• Connect the main board to the broad ATX plug.
If you apply a force the ATX plug can also be placed upside down on
the terminal located on the main board ! However, it must be possible
to place the ATX plug thereon with no difficulty and to get it neatly
caught thereon by the side clip.
• The 6-pole BAT plug (on which the +5 V and +3.3 V are led out as extras) may only
be connected to main boards having an appropriate jack.
The function of the plug is to reduce the maximum current via the lines of the ATX
plug, thus supplying power to processors requiring particularly much power.
• The 300 W power supply unit does not possess a 4-pole ATX2.0 12 V plug as is
required for many Intel P4 main boards. This is why a particular adapter cable is
included (5.25" power jack on an ATX2.0 12 V plug).

Prenez un pinceau étroit à poils longs et un aspirateur. Allumez l'aspirateur et évacu-
ez ainsi la poussière déposée sur les hélices et le couvercle.
N'introduisez pas le pinceau dans l'appareil plus loin que les héli-
ces, sinon il y a danger d'une décharge électrique mortelle!
8. Elimination des déchets
Jetez l'appareil devenu inutilisable conformément aux dispositions de recyclage en
vigueur.

Tenez absolument compte des consignes de sécurité!

Pas de fonctionnement L'appareil est-il allumé?
Le cordon secteur est-il connecté correctement des
deux côtés?
La prise de courant est-elle défectueuse?
Tous les câblages à l'intérieur du PC ont-ils été effec-
tués correctement? Si par ex. le câble du disque dur a
été inversé, l'ordinateur ne pourrait pas démarrer à cau-
se d'un court-circuit, l'alimentation ne répond pas!
Si vous avez assemblé un nouvel ordinateur, certaines
cartes mères ne démarrent pas quand le ventilateur de
l'unité centrale tourne trop lentement (par ex. un venti-
lateur d'unité centrale à bas régime peu bruyant).
