Fault Reason
Does not switch No power (green LED does not light up) Check power

Dielectric r of material too low
Poor ground connection
Probe touches vessel wall
Probe touches outlet cone
Too much build-up on probe tip
Probe pulled down => red LED flashes
Electronics in probe or housing are
defective => red LED flashes
AC version: Contacts melted together
(after short-circuiting)
Switches MIN-/MAX fail- safe mode set wrongly
incorrectly
Sporadic faulty DC version: Output overloaded

Probe oscillates
Filling curtain sometimes touches probe
Probe touches material building on vessel

Water in housing
Remedy
Change switch settings on electronic insert
Check ground connection to silo or metal parts
Straighten rope
Shorten rope (see "Accessories") or select
another mounting point
Change switch settings on electronic insert or
clean probe
Replace FTC 262; select another mounting
point
Replace FTC 262
Replace FTC 262; connect a fuse into contactor
circuit
Set correct mode at electronic insert
Reduce load, (cable) capacitance
