11 EPA settings for steering and drive (4 small control dials)
Control dials "EPA-ST (Left)" and "EPA-ST (Right)": These control dials set the steering stop limit to the left
and to the right. The adjustment can be made separately for both sides. The reverse switch (3) determines whether
the settings are made for the left or the right. The settings might therefore be inverted.
Setting the steering stop limit prevents the drive of the steering servo from being overstrained when the steering
mechanism has already reached the end position. A greater angle of the steering servo does not cause additional
movement of the steering mechanism, but it overstrains the servo drive and uses a lot of power.
Control dial "EPA-TH (Backward)" and "EPA-TH (Forward)": These two control dials set maximum forward
and reverse speed. Normally both dials should be turned all the way to the right (clockwise) to "MAX". For beginners,
reducing maximum speed might be reasonable.
The reverse switch (4) determines whether the settings are made for forward or reverse movement. The settings
might therefore be inverted.
12 Steering dual rate control
The dual rate control limits the possible steering angle of the control wheel (8). This allows more sensitive steering
at high speeds.
Turn control to the right = steering angle is greater when control wheel (8) is completely turned
Turn control to the left = steering angle is smaller when control wheel (8) is completely turned
13 Lever for forward/reverse drive
This lever controls the drive and the brake function of the vehicle. See chapter 9. i) further down in these operating
instructions.
14 Battery compartment
Insert 8 AA batteries or 8 rechargeable batteries. Watch out for the right polarity. The polarity is indicated in the
battery compartment.
15 Charging socket
If rechargeable batteries have been inserted in the transmitter, you can charge them using a suitable charger
cable and battery charger.
The charging amperage must not exceed 250mA. Otherwise the strip conductors in the transmitter might be
damaged. Therefore, do not connect any quick chargers! Watch out for the right polarity (inner wire is positive).
Never charge conventional, non-rechargeable batteries! There is a risk of fire and explosion!
