5. Installing the PCI sound card
If you don not have any qualified knowledge for the
installation, have a qualified specialist or a spe-
cialised workshop install the sound card!
An improper installation will damage the card and
your computer and any connected devices.
Warning! Danger !
Switch off the computer you want to install the
plug-in card into, and any devices that are connect-
ed to it, pull the mains plug! It is not enough to
switch the devices off with the on/off button!
• Unscrew and open the housing of your computers and carefully
take off the lid.
• Look for a free PCI slot and remove its slot sheet. Insert the sound
card into the PCI slot and screw it tight. Check whether the card
has been plugged in into the correct slot!
• Connect the audio outlet of your CD-rom drive with the respective
male connector J3 or J5, if required. Only use one of these male
connectors Make sure you have the correct assignment, other-
wise playback will be with exchanged signal later(R/right, L/left).
• Close the computer and screw the housing tight.
• Connect your computer and monitor with the mains voltage and
switch on all the devices.
• Should your computer not start correctly, switch it off immediate-
ly and check all the settings and cable connections.

cussions, impacts or when falling even from modest heights.
4. Configuration
a) Sound card
• Microphone socket "MIC-IN"
Plug in a PC microphone here.
• Audio input "Line-In"
Connect it with the line outlet of an amplifier or CD-player or any
other device with an audio outlet (line level!).
• Audio outlets "Front-Out" and "Rear-Out"
The sound card has two audio outlets. The outlet "Rear-Out" can
be activated in the setting options of the sound card driver; a sec-
ond loudspeaker set can be connected there in order to achieve a
kind of acoustic sound if the software you use supports this.
