11. Operation
•
Now set the volume on the amplifier to the desired level.
•
If playback is to be interrupted, do not touch the pick-up arm but simply press the START/STOP button.
•
To stop the playback or if the end of the record has been reached lift the pick-up arm from the record by levering the pick-up arm lift (Open-
Position) and then place the pick-up arm back onto the pick-up arm rest. Lower the pick-up arm so that it can rest in a stable position on
the pick-up arm rest.
•
Press the START/STOP button. The record player is then turned off.
•
When yon have finished operation, switch off the amplifier first and then the record player using the POWER switch.
Adjusting the playing pitch speed
•
The playing pitch speed can be adjusted using the PITCH control, resulting in a higher or lower tone effect.
•
Press the PITCH 10/20 button to increase the pitch range to ± 20 %. Press the button again to reduce the pitch range to ± 10 %.
•
Sliding the PITCH ADJ control upwards reduces the playing speed, sliding it downwards increases the playing speed.
•
If the original speed of the record player has not been altered, the PITCH LED at the PITCH control will light green, and if the speed has
been altered it will light red.
•
Press the QUARTZ button to have the turntable turn with normal speed, independently from the status of the PITCH controller. The PITCH
LED lights up green. Press the QUARTZ button again to have the turntable turn with changed speed.
•
When the pick-up arm is not in use, always return it to the pick-up arm rest with the clip firmly in place, to prevent any
unnecessary damage. Observe that the pick-up arm lift is fully lowered before locking the pick-up arm into position.
•
To protect this device from dust, close the lid carefully during playback or after use.
•
The single adapter puck when not in use should be returned to the single puck holder.
•
A spare pick-up system together with the system carrier can be clipped into the spare pick-up system holder. Thus storing it in
a safe place where it can be instantly installed when needed.
Digitising records
You need additional software for this, e.g. Audacity the freely available audio editor. This program can be downloaded here:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net
•
Connect the USB cable to a USB port on the back of the device and to an available USB port on a computer.
•
Start the software. You can find further information in the operating instructions of the software.
12. Transport
•
Disconnect all lines from the device and disconnect it from the power supply.
•
Secure the pick-up arm with the rest clip.
•
Put the protective plastic covering over the system needle.
•
Remove the pick-up system head.
•
Remove the pick-up arm counterweight.
•
Remove the turntable.
•
Remove the lid.
•
Pack the appliance back into its original packing.
13. Maintenance
Check the technical safety of the record player regularly, e.g., for damage to the mains cable or the housing. If you have any reason to believe
that the device can no longer be operated safely, disconnect it immediately and make sure it is not unintentionally operated. Pull the power plug
out of the power socket! It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
•
there is visible damage to the device or to the power line
•
the device no longer functions
•
the device has been stored for a long time under unfavourable conditions or
•
after exposure to heavy stress during transport
