Installation

This product is only to be installed and used indoors in dry conditions.
By means of the tripod socket (10) on the top and bottom, the camera can be mounted
to a wall or ceiling using a suitable bracket (not included in the delivery).
Pay attention when tightening the bracket that no cables or pipes are damaged.
The camera should not be pointed directly at bright sources of light or the sun, since
the image will be overexposed. Avoid vibrations, dust and magnetic/electric fi elds at
the mounting location. Do not bend the connection cable.
Connection
• The video signal (PAL) is available at the BCN connector (3). Use an adapter, if you do
not have a BNC cable for this connection.
• The Schuko safety plug at the end of the mains cable (1) is to be connected to a proper
mains socket (230 V/AC, 50 Hz) with protective earth conductor. When power is avail-
able, the Power LED (4) lights up.
• Set the correct input channel at the display device to display the camera image.
• Afterwards, adjust the camera in a precise manner in order to be able to monitor the
desired image section.
Adjusting Zoom, Focusing the Image
• First unfasten the two fastening screws (8 and 9). Rotate them slightly counter-clock-
wise so that both lens rings can be rotated.
• Turn the front lens ring to the left or right to adjust the desired focal length.
Then focus the image with the rear lens ring.
• Afterwards, fasten the two lens rings again using the two fastening screws (8 and 9).
Other adjustment options
a) DIP switch
The following functions can be selected on the DIP switch (2):
• Switch "AES AI/MI": The "AES" switch position stands for "Automatic Electronic Shut-
ter" (electronic iris), the "AI/MI" switch position for the automatic iris (the latter is to
be adjusted for the auto-iris lens included in the delivery).
• Switch "BLC OFF": Here, the automatic back light compensation can be switched on
or off ("OFF").
b) Switch "VIDEO DR./DC DRIVE"
The switch (6) is used to choose whether the lens requires a video control signal (Set-
ting "VIDEO DR.") or a DC control signal (Setting "DC DRIVE").
With the lens provided the switch (6) is to be set to "DC DRIVE".
c) Control bush
The plug (11) of the auto iris lens must be plugged into the control bush (5). This lens
needs a DC control signal.

Cleaning
Occasionally, clean the camera from dust and dirt, especially the glass of the lens. For
this, use a clean, soft, dry cloth! Do not rub too hard, to avoid scratch marks on the
glass, this will cause deterioration in the image quality!
Tips and Notes
a) Using a different lens
• The camera provides the option to use a "C" or "CS" lens. Please pay attention that
the screw thread, or the part of the lens that is pointing inwards, in direction of the
sensor, is not too long. Otherwise, the sensor will be damaged.
With the hexagon key included in the delivery, the lens can be attached to the camera
using a small grub screw.
Do not touch the image sensor! Furthermore, ensure that no dust or soiling
enters the camera's interior! Never operate the camera without lens!
• To connect the control cables of the lens, observe the connector pin assignment for
the control bush in chapter "Other adjustment options".
b) General
• Install the camera so that it can not be reached without using auxiliary means.
The same applies to the connection cables. Ideally, they should be run in a plastic or
metal pipe.
• Increasing the cable lengths causes deterioration in the video signal. In this case,
use a suitable amplifi er.
Disposal
Dispose of the unserviceable product according to the relevant statutory
regulations!
