6. Battery and accumulator information

• Batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/accumulators.
• Do not leave the batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of their being swallowed by
children or domestic animals. If swallowed, contact a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries/accumulators can cause burning if they come into contact with the
skin. For this reason you should use suitable protective gloves.
• Make sure that batteries/accumulators are not be short-circuited or thrown into a fire; there is a
risk of explosion!
• Never take the batteries/accumulators apart!
• Normal batteries may not be recharged. There is a risk of explosion!
• In case of longer periods of non-use (e.g. during storage) remove the inserted battery/accumulator
to avoid damage through a leaking battery/accumulator.
• Always replace the whole set of batteries. Only use batteries/accumulators of the same type/
manufacturer.
• Never mix batteries with accumulators!
Please note:
Operation of the door lock actuator with accumulators is also possible. However, due to
the lower voltage (accumulator = 1.2 V, battery = 1.5 V), a shorter service life can be the
result.
Apart from this, the lower voltage (3 * accumulators = 3.6V, 3 * batteries = 45V) will
lead to weaker torque of the drive motor.
Possibly, the electronics will signalise "flat batteries" even after just a short accumulator
period of operation.
Therefore the following applies:
If you have problems in using accumulators, use batteries instead of accumulators. We
recommend you to operate the door lock actuator exclusively with high-quality alkaline
batteries to ensure functional security.
